So earlier attempts to open up dialog bout alternative forms of music on this forum have been less then spectacular(I swear,it seems all of yall are musically vanillia), so I was hoping to get some feed back from ya guys and gals bout some of your stranger music cravings.
Couldn't get many of you hip hop fans out of yer shell to post, but how bout you nerd folk(I know you're out there, seen enough larping and MMORPG posts in this forum to choke even the most orally talented fangirl)
Come on, share you're nerdcore anthems

But by all means don't feel that this is just a thread for the anti social misfit music(altho I can't say I don't have a soft spot for that sorta thing)

I just want you folks to share some really groovy tunes that I haven't heard a million times, come on, turn me on to some new shit

all this afro funk,Mod Soul,hard rock,synth punk,desert pop,,desert rock,black brass,hippie folk is gett'n kinda stale

so come on people, show me kinksters(on this forum any way) got some musical taste

We have taste, it's just different than yours. I've never heard of any of those groups you linked to. My teenager just listens to rap.

I like Two Live Crew - Get The Fuck Out. One of the few rap songs in my collection.

DesFIP's hit the nail on the head.

As far as "out there" stuff I enjoy, Akira Yamaoka and Vangelis top my list.

The closest to hip hop I listen to would probably be Thievery Corporation.

yeah, this totally sounds the same as this, lol
(did you notice the beethoven beat in the first one lol)
but yeah, I like some Disco
"Ra-ra-rasputin"
but any how, as to "new music", half the stuff in my first post is older then I am.
Heck, I get down to Memphis Minnie( I actually have some of her fist recorded songs on my mp3 player, something bout having a recording that was made on a wax cylinder on my mp3 player just tickles my funny bone)

as to Cunt-try, most of it sounds like bad rock'n roll with a southern accents, still get down on some Flying Burrito Brothers. More of a blue grass buy thou.

And what kind of music does your mother like? Vanilla in your opinion. At my age, I'm allowed to listen to the oldie station.

My nephew occasionally joins this group when they need a sax and they're in the area. http://www.myspace.com/powderkegrox

Pronk is Prog (on account of the odd chords and harmonies) allied with Punk (on account of the attitude). Best band in the world that no-one has heard of, in my opinion - but acquired taste. 'Dirty Boy' ends with a single vocal harmony held for just about 3 minutes... It's one cool track, though.

Believe it or not, this was one of the first music videos I ever saw(no tv)
saw it when I was like 12, fucking crazy, the only other music vids I'd seen before were the residents, that's right, I started from the residents and this vid was able to make me say "wow, that's fucking weird"
