Ok, I'll admit it.  I'm a tech geek.

I lusted after the iphone, but do not like being the slave to any particular company, and both Microsoft and Apple tend to treat the market as their slaves in a barrel, feeding them through the bung hole.

So I waited until the Android OS had matured, and now I have a Samsung Galaxy S. (pretty videos and pics here).

A friend of mine has the iphone, and we've compared them, and I really find the Galaxy with Android a better system.

As well, Steve Wozniak believes that the Android system will overcome the iPhone.

How about you?  Do you have an iPhone, or an Android phone?  Have you had both?  Which do you prefer, and why?

Android.  And pissed about it.  I loved my PalmOS Treo phone, but Palm discarded over a dozen years of being the best product in the industry to make a crappy iPhone wannabe.  Android's the best of what's rest IMO.

That's why they call them "cell" phones....

I am not a tech geek. The wife just got the latest and greatest iphone, and seems very pleased with it. I, on the other hand, prefer the models they design for senior citizens that cost me $1, and work just fine without a data plan.

One vote for Pantech!

Firm I have both. One is paid for by my company, and the other is mine because if I had to use that miserable Samsung Android any more than absolutely necessary I would scream. Just the email bugs alone make me hate it. Oh to be clear my other phone isn't an iphone, it's a Blackberry Tour and I would never be without it. I have 8 email accounts synced on it from Outlook and it works flawlessly, social networking is a breeze, photos are great, and both phones are through the same carrier US Cellular, so that isn't the issue. I think the Droid for me is more of a "gamer's" type phone, it it more like device that has a phone "app" and not really geared for business use. Way too many unnecessary functions for me anyway. Plus I despise the erratic touch pad, it's impossible for me, and the short battery life is a pain in the ass too.

So, in summary, hate my Droid, love my Blackberry. [;)].

I'm thinking of starting my own thread asking how to deal with jealousy over a piece of machinery.  [;)]

It doesn't work as a remote for the TV, does it? That could get ugly.

iPhone as it is a business expense, but I might be looking into an Android for me privately, the clincher is that it is sometimes NICE to step away from the computer, you know being with friends, walking the dog, shopping or down at the pub and not to worry what happens online and leave work at the office.

I know myself too well, if I can check stuff, I will and then my spare time goes down the drain because there will always be some work related issue that will require my attention... The downfall of technology.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Android versus IPhone (11/19/2010 9:43:19 AM)

I have a motorola android 1. Big, big love. I pretty mcuh don't miss my blackberry, thanks to the real keyboard. If I ever had to rely on the touch keyboard, I would NOT be happy. The BB was better at document handling, so I wwill say the android is no replacement as a business phone.

soul2share -> RE: Android versus IPhone (11/19/2010 10:12:25 AM)

My phone is an Net10 samsung flip phone...I answer and make calls, send texts on it and that's plenty for me.  I don't need, nor do I want, all the bells and whistles.....I hate my cell, it's a necessary evil as far as I'm concerned.....I really feel for all those folks who are attached to their cells either thru business use or personal use.  When I was in Tallahassee for training, we were out in the middle of nowhere.....there were people walking all over the place holding their phones in the air looking for service.  One girl there was unbelievable....if we weren't in class, she had her phone plastered to her ear, or was texting madly.  It was in January, and the temps were below freezing, and people were all outside yammering away, freezing their little tookuses off......no freaking way!

Apparently, I can access the web on my phone, but I have no idea how to do it.......I'm not a techno-geek in any way shape or form.  I have a hard enough time trying to figure out a simple digital camera.....never mind the whole phone thing.  Ignorance is truly bliss!

*sighs*  If they ever come out with a phone that can give blowjobs and pick up dirty socks, I'll become completely unnecessary.

I have a feeling you are safe Treasure :)
Im looking at buying one of the Iphones or Androids, or BB< but I hadnt got a clue about which was better
this has really helped.
altho I still havent decided
LOL
I admit I wouldnt be using it a lot and Im not really good with the expense even as a business deduction.Right now my social life is practically zero so I dont " need one" and I have many more "must have" moments over other things, which are mostly kink themed:)
I am intrigued with the tablet computers tho

MasterAndHisslut -> RE: Android versus IPhone (11/19/2010 1:09:48 PM)

I've been using a HTC Hero for over a year now and LOVE it.
For me, open source software wins every time and, on a more personal note, i wouldn't want to give any money to that smug git Steve Jobs!

To be fair to the man though, he's doing something right. He could probably wrap a turd in tin foil and sell it as ear rings.
