Here is some candy for the politics junkies of every stripe and persuasion. An A-Z of exit poll results.

Yup, us Independent voters made a *HUGE* differance in this election!
You just can't win elections without Independents.

I wish one party or the other would figure that out. The Dems keep going farther left into lala land and the Republicans keep going off and kissing the ass of the ultra religious right.

And I wish some people would learn what is meant by "Independant" in the political context.

Or in the context intended by the ones using the term.

I notice the Democrats held their edge among those with less than a high school education, though. Good for them!

That's because the "just throw the bums out" crowd keeps throwing out the conservative Democrats and the moderate Republicans, leaving the extremes on Capitol Hill.

Independents need to make some decisions instead of just bouncing around.

"Independents ... for the third election in a row, swept the party in power out. In 2006, they voted 57 to 39 percent for Democratic House candidates over Republican ones. This year, they flipped, voting 39 percent for Democrats and 55 percent for Republicans."

And their edge among postgraduates.

Meanwhile, Republicans are popular among those without a college degree:

"White working class is one of the important swing groups in our politics. Defined as whites without a college degree, this group voted for Republicans for Congress by a record 29 percentage points. Their strong support for Republicans contributed to the Republican rout."

Democrats still get more women....

You are always good for a laugh Popeye.

Did I mention I just became an Independent too?

I just dislike conservatives and rarely vote for a Republican.

But I'm an Independent.

Really.

Swear to God.
