Attempting to attach a pic of my cat. We'll see how this works. Technology is, historically, not my friend.

pam

Piss and shit. How do you attach a picture? i tried hitting "embed picture in post" with no luck.[image][/image]

http://www.webresizer.com/resizer/

Pam, this will resize your pics so they fit here.....just save the resized pic to your pics and then use the "reply" feature here to upload the pics......it's the easiest way I've found to put pics on here.  I bookmarked the web resizer site so I can always find it.

Instead of assuming depression, you should take him to the vet for a check up just like people. Arthritis could be making it difficult for him to move and he only pushes himself to do so to interact with you. Lots of other physical conditions also.

i just got offline...2 am... with a CM friend...chat only so far.. who has a sick kitty but no job and no money.
i talked to the emergency vet regarding me paying on his behalf over the phone...
paying it forward....because i have been there and done that(no job no money)....UPDATE ... the CM friend is there with his sick cat!!!wish the kitty(storm) well ya'll....she sounded in grave shape.
OP..have your kitty checked...hiding when he normally interacts with you is indicative of something amiss.

I AM SO HAPPY THAT HE TOOK THE KITTY IN!!! HAPPY DANCE!

I will pray for the kitty.  Poor thing...sometimes they eat a poisoned roach or mouse, or find a pill that fell under the couch or something.  We have also had messed up animal chow on the shelves and some animals had organ troubles over it.

I worked in a vet's office for one of my jobs, and one of the cats almost died because of...constipation.  Yep, we had to mix metamucil with it's food and give it enemas daily.  I hope it is something simple that the vet can fix.

Now to another comment, lol.

One interesting thing about KB.....I swear he can tell time sometimes.  When I was working, he was always right there when the alarm went off....sometimes, he'd get me up before it went off.

Mom has an all white cat with blue eyes who used to do this.  I think she hated the alarm sound so she learned to wake mom up before it went off.  Even on weekends.  Even after mom retired...  It took years for the cat to stop waking mom up at 4 a.m. to get ready for work; if mom didn't get up ASAP, the cat would lick her nose and blow fishy breath into her face...then did the most terrible thing.  She licked mom's eyelid.  Yeah, ouchdammit, lol.  I had a cat who did that to me when she was in a loving mood and wanted me to wake up...she would burrow in under my blanket to remove all the skin from my eyelid with a single lick, so you know she meant business.

Mom doesn't wear her hearing aids in her apartment, so when the phone rings and she cannot hear it, or the doorbell rings, the cat uses her body to point and stare hard.  Also, if anyone is outside the door, the cat growls and is pointed at the door.  Beauty lived with me for 5 years while my mom lived with my sister in Texas, so I was used to her quirks...she was my little "guard dog" and helped me keep prowlers off the porch.

Cats are amazing...if they love you lots and think you cannot hunt for yourself, they bring home lovely presents like dead moles, birds, mice, rats, and giant slugs. [:D]

AWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!

soul2share -> RE: The pets we live with ? (11/21/2010 5:23:17 AM)

I'm actually up on my own right now....even had to wake KB up to eat.....and I was up most of the night too, so I'll be headed back to bed here real soon.  KB usually gets me up about 6am.....right now, he's sitting here next to me just looking around.....makes me wonder just what is going thru his little kitteh mind!

What a pretty kitteh, pam!

How big is Cashew now, Greedy?  Last pic I saw was an itty bitty Cashew.....

LaTigresse -> RE: The pets we live with ? (11/21/2010 6:19:02 AM)

I love my fur babies but as others have said, they are not human. They have different needs than we do and yes, can hide serious illness until it is almost too late to treat it.

Here is my largest fur baby, now pushing 80# at 8 months of age. Her newest game is playing in the shower, while I am doing the hair and makeup thing for work, in the morning.

Silly me..........forgot to add the photo..

Cynthia mentioning her coffee drinking cat reminded me that my daughter's first horse required coffee first thing at horse shows. No milk, yes sugar, add enough water to cool it down to drinkable temperatures. He drank water the rest of the day but he needed his coffee. Can't blame him, I didn't like being there at 6:00AM either.

windchymes -> RE: The pets we live with ? (11/21/2010 8:00:31 AM)

Now that's my kind of horse....too funny! [:D] I can just hear him saying in a Mr. Ed voice, "I'm not trotting anywhere until I've had my cup o' joe!"

Holy crap, LaT....what in the world are you feeding her????  She's HUUUUUUGE!

Squeaks will play in the dripping water in the tub too, and I leave a puddle in the bathroom sink about an inch deep...she drinks out of it instead of the fountain, but she'll also play in it.  Which is fine until she starts to try to run on the tile floor with her wet little tootsies.....she gets her running start, then hits the hardwood floor, so she usually spins out in the middle of the floor.  It's usually good for a laugh!

She is on a special, large dog breed puppy, diet. She should end up around 85 pounds. Both her parents are large and her maternal grandfather is huge. I weighed her last month and she was 75 pounds and I told her she could stop there.... Unfortunately she didn't. She is convinced she is a lap dog.

The funny thing........the little 12 pound red head with the huge ears still bosses her around.

Aneirin -> RE: The pets we live with ? (11/21/2010 5:26:13 PM)

Odd someone should mention coffee, for I drink it a lot, and my cat just loves to lick my fingers after I have made a drink. At first I thought it was the sweetness as I take sugar in hot beverages, but now after reading what I have, I now wonder if my cat's grumpy behaviour might be plain old coffee withdrawal.

kiwisub12 -> RE: The pets we live with ? (11/21/2010 5:44:52 PM)

I have a goffins cockatoo that is convinced that she should be able to share my hot tea.   She in fact insists on it!  and gets quite pissy if i drink it too fast.

She also likes to "share"my morning cereal and eats the almonds from the honey bunches of nuts./     She is very special - sometimes in a short bus sort of way.[8|]

Further to my original post, are we teaching creatures or are they teaching us ?

NefertariReborn -> RE: The pets we live with ? (11/21/2010 5:53:31 PM)

I live with 3 dogs. One is an akita mix, about 90 lbs. He talks doesn't bark unless something is really going on. The other is a Chow/Lab/Rott mix. He's about 120 lbs. Thinks he's a lap dog. Insists on giving visitors bear hugs on the couch which usually ends in screams. Third is the baby - he's about 8 months old, about 40 lbs. He's a Chow/Rott mix. Wish I could hook up My power supply to him. He doesn't understand the words no, don't eat Mommy's sexy strappy sandals; no don't run up and down the halls; no, don't bark at 3am.
