I actually miss the snow from time to time.  It's still seems odd to Me to have winter with rain and green grass instead of white on the ground.

Of course, that doesn't mean that I want to have to drive in it or that I'd be quiet about it being cold.  [8D]

By no means would I ever expect that to be so.[8D]

You should feel sorry for MP on that one.  If it's cold, it's almost a guarantee that I will mention it.

Ok...the magic is wearing thin.    2ft of snow, white out conditions due to high winds, bringing the temps down to -2...  After a trip to the woodpile this morning, my thoughts on the fluffy white stuff are slightly altered.    How long until Spring?

Ice Castles!

Yuck, I grew up in New England and I hate snow!
I lived in the White Mountains for two years and one winter there was five feet of snow in the yard until April!
It was so cold that the snow banks froze up and we had no mail delivery for two weeks. We had to go down to the post office to get our mail and at lunchtime they simply locked the doors from 12 to 1.
It was below zero for 21 days that January.

FR

I'm going with the snow dissenters here. Snow is a four letter word. So is rain. And to coin an axiom here - where it snows it rains.

When I was a kid we went to Albuquerque, we should've stayed.

The effects of this four letter demon are immense on all levels. I have a four wheel drive, which I now consider a necessity. You know what parts cost for those things ? Replacement cigarette lighter - $6.55. Replacement cigarette lighter for a four wheel drive - $74.75. And the damn thing can pass almost anything but a gas station. All this outlay for a scant few months of mere survival (and not having to shovel the driveway). Let's not even dweel on shoveling. I got my hands on the biggest baddest snowblower I could and it broke down. Couldn't take the strain I guess.

As bad is it is, there is still the heat. You think you'll get used to the cold, but then next summer the candles melt without being lit ! I am not bullshitting, this was a Kodak incident to be sure. I didn't have a regular camera but I think I caught it on videotape. (well actually I know I taped it, but finding the tape now would be like finding the angels on the head of a pin in the desert. (the haystack would be a piece of cake)

I hear in Ohio we got white squirrels, that must be natural selection, they blend right in.

Enough bitching, I have the day off work. I can only bitch so much without getting paid for it.
