Tv adverts consist of trying to get across ionformation as best as possible in the shortest space of time, therefore they stand to be some of the most creative tv works there is, so, whilst looking on Youtube trying to find the origin of my recent ear worm, which I believe is from a tv advert from the past, I got into looking at the tv adverts of the past and reminiscing.

As usual it seems I am drawn to one which was very memorable to me from the early nineties, an advert that caused me to question and undoubtedly, quite possibly, lead to me being a member of this website with those questions now answered.

But it is still a beautiful advert to watch, try it

Edited to add, the above tv advert I remember got censored within a week of it's first appearance, it then appeared shortened and with the instrumental version of that song, lyrics and content obviuously too damaging to the prudish British viewer, well some of them at least.

But with ear worm adverts in mind, what tv adverts  from the past did others find memorable ?

Polar bears. The old Coca Cola Christmas polar bear commercials or the new one for Toyota maybe, which shows a polar bear walking into town, coming up behind some guy getting ready to get into his electric car and hugging him.
If it has polar bears being cute, I like it.

That is a really interesting tire commercial with the Lou Reed song..Very surreal.

I have a lot of favorites from the past but right now it is this one with the dog and his bone from Travelers Insurance company.

I have one of those cool HDD recorder boxes (like TiVo for FreeView - not Murdoch's offering) so I rarely see adverts nowadays - I watch everything off real time and skip 'em.

On saying that, I did, by accident, catch sight of the Ikea cat advert and I liked it.

One of my favorite single commercials is the GEICO pothole commercial.

My favorite commercial series has to be the E*trade baby.

From an ear worm standpoint I guess it would be the old Chevy campaign that used Bob Seger's "Like a Rock". Love the song but I wouldn't be caught dead owning a GM vehicle.

it's sad, these days you can catch catchier songs on commercials then on the radio
