Miller said he has seen many marriages harmed after one person in the couple begins talking on Facebook with an old friend or an old flame. “And, before you know it, connections are being made and, sooner or later, it winds up in my office,” Miller said. Miller told church leadership they would have to resign if they did not delete their Facebook accounts. Miller’s message was diluted this week, though, when it was revealed he and his wife had engaged in a three-way affair with a male member of the church years ago. Miller confirmed the information./snip

Anything that people are a member of outside of a controlling authority presents a problem to those in authority because their instruction can be diluted or ignored if an other offers a better situation.

But as to relationships breaking up, advanced communication though it can help should not be held responsible as if one is looking towards others, then that is an indication that the relationship is already breaking.

Or is it the church in question is in it's action saying facebook is a dangerous diversion that enables human nature to be what it is beyond idealistic instruction. Saying that, what is the future of humanity, to seek and be happy or unhappily endure for the sake of unrealistic religious ideals.

We are all subject to temptation, the pastor himself proved that even he is not above his natural human instinct, so in reality his teachings as to not give in to temptation really are not worth the air of exhalation.

But I understand the church view of temptation in that by having ideals and holding to them, we are seperating ourselves from the nature of nature we are, for it is held by many we are above animal kind and to stay above we must not give into nature, and the natural order of all living things.

And of course, that very same pastor recently admitted to having a 3-way with his wife and a church staffer.

FR....

Facebook is the easiest and single best place to hook up on the internet. Bar none.

In fact, not only is it better the dating ads, craigslist, bdsm sights, on line chat rooms and boards, its better than munches, events,
bars and night clubs, et al.

And it's usually with someone you genuinely like too.

It's the passiveness of facebook that makes it the perfect tool  to build relationships on.. Unfortunately, those easily built and
friendly relationships, (more often than not a reconnection from the past but also with a friend of a friend or work connection or
a spoke off one group or another)  are often the spouse or significant other of someone else.

The facebook of sex

And for the ease of your perusal whilst on this website, you will notice the link come up on the other side, click on it and do Collarme.com a favour by responding to advertisements that pay for successful exposure.

FatDomDaddy -> RE: Pastor to church members: 'Quit Facebook!' (11/22/2010 2:10:02 PM)

???

Have no clue and would need more people verifying for me to believe its a real site.

Facebook is a real site though. Easy to use and navigate, easy to communicate on and as I had mentioned, easy to
hook up on.

I guess the same people who think guns kill people are the same folks that hate facebook.

Ultimately its the user is it not?

Lucylastic -> RE: Pastor to church members: 'Quit Facebook!' (11/22/2010 2:11:56 PM)

stupid people use guns to kill people
I like facebook
blaming a tool, is human... and not taking responsibility for flawed human nature

To you other folks who don't, don't use it.

Sounds like in fact he was up for it... Three in One... Amen.

DarkSteven -> RE: Pastor to church members: 'Quit Facebook!' (11/23/2010 6:37:42 AM)

I heard that people hook up at grocery stores.  We should ban them too.

Seriously, the Lord decided to give us sexual urges.  How each of us control them is an individual choice.  The reason that Facebook leads to sex is that it is based on communication.  Duh.

If he actually wants to accomplish more than getting laughed at, he could foster Marriage Encounter, which tries to strengthen communication within marriages, instead of railing against things that have the potential to help communications between all people.

Moonhead -> RE: Pastor to church members: 'Quit Facebook!' (11/23/2010 9:05:38 AM)

He could.
He could also pull his head out of his arse and stop behaving like a twelve year old throwing a temper tantrum because the kid next door's using a toy he doesn't like as well...

That's funny!

You are right, its the ease of communication, especially the passive way get to comment on posts
friends write on their own or to your wall. make facebook a great way to communicate and get to know
someone. There are a lot of ways you can play with double entendtre and inside jokes too.

I am way past the number where I can count of facebook driven happy hours, reunions and parties or even one on
one dinners over the last two years.
