And we have no less than a political heavyweight like Mike Huckabee backing her.

Two failed politicians turned talk show hosts.

God bless America, it can't get any worse than this.

Palin's Iowa trip stokes 2012 talk

Sarah Palin’s camp is denying a published report that aides have been looking for office space in Des Moines, Iowa, in preparation for a 2012 presidential bid.

....Palin, just days away from a weekend swing through Iowa, is doing what she does best: generating buzz about her political brand and drawing speculation about her plans for 2012. (See: Palin says she can defeat Obama)

Recent comments from two prominent Republican figures reveal the division in the party when it comes to Palin's political future and a possible presidential bid. (See: Sarah Palin says she's pondering 2012 run)

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, a potential GOP presidential candidate himself, told reporters in Des Moines on Sunday he believed Palin would be a "force" to be reckoned with if she were to throw her hat in the ring, and that Republicans should be "prepared" for the 2008 vice presidential nominee to "run away" with the primary election.

“No question, she will be a very, very strong presence and force, if she gets in,” Huckabee said, according to the Des Moines Register. “You know, she may run away with it. And that’s one of those things everyone needs to be prepared for.” (See: Huckabee mulls 'pathway' to 2012 win)

Had a giggle last night upon hearing this from Barbara Bush...

Speaking to CNN television alongside her husband ex-president George H.W. Bush, the former first lady offered a backhanded compliment to Palin, before delivering her zinger.

"I sat next to her once. Thought she was beautiful. And she's very happy in Alaska -- I hope she'll stay there," said the former first lady, who is known for her quick wit and her tart tongue.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, while I never have agreed with their politics I have always had a respect for HW and Barbara.

I just can't figure out how they produced so many dipshit sons.

You have Dubya who needs no further comment.

Jeb who was the worst Governor Florida has ever seen.

But especially "savings and loan fraud" Neil.

Have to disagree with ya there, RML.  Being a Floridian and leaning towards the liberal side, I had no beefs with Jeb.  At all.

Well, my profile needs updating but I have lived in Florida for several years and he never impressed me.

I can give you the details why if you are interested.

Well, we all have our reasons.  I know a lot of people were turned off by him when his brother won that very close presidential election.  But given the amount of help the state needed in 2004 during the rash of hurricanes that hit the state is my main reason for liking Jeb.  He took care of his state and the people in it, during that time of anxiety.

Isn't there another one, "Marvin" or something? Of course they're all dipshits, they grew up wealthy with two silver spoons in their mouths.
They never had to go out and hustle a buck to make a living.
George Bush had 9/11 dumped on him yes and he did pretty well with that but I don't think he was a very good president in other areas.

Popeye, don't do this.

You are making me have to agree with you.

If we keep this up we'll never have any fun.

I don't read what Huckabee said as a ringing endorsement of her candidacy. He is just acknowledging she has a big following. Maybe he is hoping she will so she can be used like a stalking horse.

ETA: If that was only a partial quote, anyway. I'll go read it now.

Really?

You didn't think this was a ringing endorsement?

No, a ringing endorsement would be, "I believe in Sarah and what she has to offer. she would be good for the country".
What I heard Hucabee saying is "Wake up fellow republicans, get off your ass and offer a better, more coherent plan, or Palin could win the primary (and Obama will mow her down in a shoo-in election)". That's what I heard with MHuck's statement.

That's not what I heard, but I guess it's a matter of interpretation.

Will someone please tell Palin that her fake feminist schtick of "mama grizzlies" isn't working? There are fewer women in Congress now than before she began her campaign for riot grizzzzlies. Perhaps it's because some of them she endorsed, i.e. Christine O'Donnell, are as batshit stupid as she is. Truly. She's stupid. Why do people listen to her? I find it positively frightening that this woman has been given so much attention. Who would listen to her if she were ugly?

Also, I wouldn't call Huckabee a major force in Republican politics. Just another nutty science denier like the rest of them.
