Nonsense. The end result would be another venue for pointless theater.

Dunno, Muse, I think they are onto something here.

I therefore propose that City Councils be empowered to repeal any law passed by State legislatures. And neighborhood councils be empowered to repeal any law passed by City Councils.

Local gummint, fuck yeah!

thornhappy -> RE: "Repeal" Amendment (11/23/2010 7:35:09 PM)

From the article:
"
It’s time to return America[image]http://kona.kontera.com/javascript/lib/imgs/grey_loader.gif[/image] to the common sense conservative principles of limited government, free enterprise, and individual responsibility. The Repeal Amendment would provide a check on the ever-expanding federal government, protect against Congressional overreach, and get the government working for the people again, not the other way around,” Cantor said in a statement. “In order to return America to opportunity, responsibility, and success, we must reverse course and the Repeal Amendment is a step in that direction.”

Ok, why didn't these guys dream that up for the No Child Left Behind, the Patriot Act, NAFTA, Voting Rights Act, Civil Rights Act, Medicaid, etc.?

Damn straight, if this is the best we can do we are better off without the damn thing. Git Jethro to go throw this down in the swamp.

Real0ne -> RE: "Repeal" Amendment (11/23/2010 10:33:07 PM)

even at that, without the ability to convert your fee simple land titles to allodial to protect property rights that americans only had in lip service none of this is worth the powder to blow it to hell.

Now I know most out here have no clu what I am talking about of how that applies but thats ok.

joether -> RE: "Repeal" Amendment (11/24/2010 2:32:36 AM)

Lets just say this appeal amendment went through for the sake of the arguement.

I'll play Devil's Advocate for this....

What happens when a well funded, well oiled, misinformation organization, decides it doesnt like a certain political party, and takes action. This action, would be on recently pass legislation, that the organization did not like. It tried (and failed) with its misinformation 'machine/mechanisms' during the voting on said legislation in both House and Senate. That all it needs to do, is play on the fears, ignorance, and racism, of a collection of people, noted for their lack of critical thinking skills and maturity.

How would this amendment, be of benefit to Americans, given this particular organization, in operation? What if there were more then just one such organization, doing this, either in tandim to the first, or from another angle(s)?
