Once again it is the PEOPLE, not the soldiers, who suffer the bloodshed.

North Korea already lost their best opportunity to invade south korea since we are no longer bogged down in two wars. Even though Obama is a pacifist, they aren't going to do anything or they would have already done it.

Besides, the international community including China wouldn't let us bomb their nuclear facilities while under construction, so they sure as hell aren't going to let us fix his wagon now after he has them. The guys a nut, and would actually use them.

Just out of curiosity, what would a "merciful" military strike be?

Hillwilliam -> RE: NKorea's military command vows 'merciless' military strike against SKorea... Fiires artillery onto (11/23/2010 8:52:32 PM)

If there was oil in N Korea, Dubya would have invaded them too.

No, he invaded Iraq because he could.

Iran and N. Korea are quite a bit tougher.

He SUPPOSEDLY invaded Iraq because of "weapons of Mass Destruction" At the same time, Kim is bragging that he has them.

It was oil. Pure and simple.

Just speculation but I think China will not support N. Korea in an invasion of the south under any circumstance. It could destroy their economy if they support an aggressor. I believe the US would apply sanctions on goods and services and Western Europe would follow suite.

China has progressed to the point where there could be unrest among the people and perhaps revolt if they loose their new economic standing because of support for the rogue regime in N. Korea.

But… I don’t think China can control N. Korea and the power struggle in Korea’s leadership may lead to a limited dirty war in hopes of securing power both internally and internationally.

I think the US will allow S. Korea to decide if they will retaliate and support them.
