No, rule, you misunderstood him from the start, seeing what you assumed instead of what he wrote.

Yes, I just corrected myself.

That's because the simplistic "through the bums out" mentality has continually weeded out conservative Democrats and moderate Republicans, leaving the extremes. One day, voters are going to have to actually start thinking.

I don't know what Obama will do. I don't think he does. The State of the Union will likely lay this out; we'll have to wait.

Republicans have continually and explicitly said their objective is knee jerk obstruction. Expect two years of theatrical stunts.

We'll get two more years of complete lies and demagoguery. It works...I show you the 2010 midterms as proof.

Yes, but we'll get lots of pointless hearings and theatrical stunts too.

And a government shutdown again. That's always fun.

How's the wine over there, Rich?

The wine was excellent, Muse, though I only had a little to be safe for the drive home. The turkey was very moist, too.

If I had taken the ride with the Obama campaign, bringing up his incompetence to do it, or his ignorance of the political realities, or his cynical exploitations of the voters (pick one), would qualify as whining, or sour grapes, or whatever else you like. Since I decided he wasn't capable of delivering, well before the election, this is known as rubbing your noses in it.

I'm curious- in what way have the Democrats gone "too far to the left"?

The current generation of Dems espouse policies more conservative (that is, more free market) than say, LBJ or Truman.

Hell, the dreaded "Obamacare" is a health reform very much like what Republican Richard Nixon proposed. "Liberal" Bill Clinton presided over a dismantling of the welfare system in a way that even Reagan never tried. "Left Wing" Obama claims a more hawkish posture on defense and national security than Barry Goldwater ever dared to speak.

So what policies or ideas are Dems proposing that are anything remotely "Liberal"?
