The question I would be asking and am asking, is if this is true,is  why ?

Why would anyone want to invest such large sums that would indeed cure many of this county's ills in one sweep, there has to be a reason as no one does that kind of thing out of the goodness of their hearts.

But to do something like that and it was accepted, that would put this benefactor in a very powerful position indeed, perhaps even the ultimate leader and controller of this country, we would effectively have been bought by an external body, which also harks back to notions of slavery, that we are a bunch of people with stuff that can be bought and sold.

But, will our government sell us out, that is the question and could this mysterious foundation x actually turn out to be better than the shite politicians we have who every term of office, balls up the economy or the populace even further.

Ask the belleagured man on the street, they might say yes, as long as lifestyle can be sustained, as it doesn't really matter who is in control as long as everything is working, the schools and the NHS, but to me it seems strange that the schools and the NHS have been mentioned as chief beneficiaries of this investment, it is as if whoever it is has their finger on the pulse of what ails the UK, which is basically an ineffective management and waste of finances, it always has been. But the politicians undoubtedly will want to know where they are included in the deal as their position is paramount over what this country needs.

So, say this story became public knowledge, I mean more public than a blog or something said in passing, a side column in a newspaper, then it is right that the public choose what they want, not the politicians, but will that be allowed, or could it even be we have been sold out already, hence the cash problems or if the politicians view the country as a company, is it being run down to make it ripe for buy out.

It could be a case of better the devil you know than the one you dont and with that, don't look a gift horse in the mouth, but no doubt, the arrogance of the leaders, they will keep us excluded if they can.

Oh, I wonder, has anyone notified the Queen on this issue, for she is still head of this country.

But I won't lose any sleep over the story.

Get onto the Kenyan: I'm sure he's had worse offers than that...

DarkSteven -> RE: Shadowy 'Foundation X' offers to buy British Government (11/24/2010 5:15:20 AM)

Hell, you could buy off all the MPs for far less and have effective control anyway.

Moonhead -> RE: Shadowy 'Foundation X' offers to buy British Government (11/24/2010 6:56:27 AM)

Yep. Not that this would ever happen in a consitutional monarchy, of course...

Ha

Ha ha

Ha ha ha.

The claim is ludicrous and I suspect the dopey peer has been scammed. He, of all people, should know £75 billion wont even scratch the surface of the national debt.

Three reasons:

1) You love to belief weird shit,
2) You are very gullible, with virtually no threshold for proof, and
3) The eccentric conservative peerage in your House of Lords is as wacko as the conservative leadership in the U.S.

And that's saying something.
