Mine is simple. If something looks to good to be true odds are it isn't true.

You can't always get what you want.

(that would make a good song wouldn't it?)

!

That one made my brain hurt! Probably not a bad thing, in my case. ;)

I don't think I have a motto, but the first one to come to mind that I don't entirely disagree with is "no balls, no blue chips." I don't particularly like chips, especially blue ones, but I suppose it's a metaphor.

Real wealth is space and proximity to living things and uncorrupted landscapes. it is not a condo, a porsche an ipad and facebook.

would you like to swing on a star??

(sorry, Aylee.. that song is stuck in my head now)

My motto, if I had one, would be ..

oh, hell.. I dont know.  I guess it depends on my mood at any given moment.

I don't know if I have a motto, but I do follow some very simple rules
  1. Never tell a friend what you would hide from a stranger, because the most dangerous enemy is a former friend
  2. Knowledge is Power
  3. Never eat a place called Mom's Home Cooking
  4. Never sleep with a woman that has more problems than you do
  5. Never play pool, or cards with a man nicknamed Doc
  6. Always carry a knife.

Lots of excellent mottos!

For me - for right now -
Happiness isn't having what you want, it's wanting what you have.

best,
sunshine

"...Carry moonbeams home in a jar?"

Love that song. LOL

Not sure I call it a "motto," but my life rule of thumb is, "Be open the possibility of goodness."
