May you be happy and joyful (unless you want to be miserable and spiteful [;)] ).

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy thanksgiving to all my colonial cousins. [8D]

Its a shame only the states celebrate this day. We ALL have things to be thankful for, regardless of what country we reside in. To everyone here...

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

Absolutely.

I have a mate, a Brit, who so likes the idea of family getting together for no other reason than to break bread and give thanks, that he does the same thing here in the UK.

Happy Thanksgiving Day!

We have a similar day here called "harvest festival" except it isnt widely celebrated much these days, except by the Church.

Lucylastic -> RE: However you Wish or Choose to Observe Today (11/25/2010 6:06:01 PM)

I remember the harvest festivals we had at school, , always bring a can or something for the poor
huge slabs of bread looked like sheaves of corn
and the church do tooo
delivering all the food to the oldsters wth "sunday school"
That was before I lost my faith tho...

tazzygirl -> RE: However you Wish or Choose to Observe Today (11/25/2010 6:06:52 PM)

Many churches get involved to the point of offering dinner, with all the fixings, for many people in the community, for those alone, those who are homeless. But its not a huge religious holiday marred by the usual crap.

FatDomDaddy -> RE: However you Wish or Choose to Observe Today (11/26/2010 7:27:02 AM)

lol... I tell ya... those churches can't win can they! [;)]

Tardy but hearty Thanksgiving wishes. I had a joyous time and hope everyone else did too.

My fave is always the day after Christmas, when I make turkey soup from a recipe my granny gave me (well, showed me, at any rate).

It's so wonderful, and makes the house smell divine [:D]

Lucylastic -> RE: However you Wish or Choose to Observe Today (11/26/2010 11:23:07 AM)

the day after christmas is the only day of the year that I eat piccalilli wif my cold turkey, nummy

Oh you clever person! I'd forgotten to make that! I was going to do a batch and then ... didn't. Completely forgot.

Well batted!

Seriously though, you've done me a major favour - it has to "mature" for a few weeks in the jar to be at its best, so if I hadn't done it soon (which I wouldn't have) I wouldn't have done it at all.

Bless you [:D]
