Something seems askew.   4 hours, (after prep for 2 days baking etc), 15 min consumption, and it's over.   Oh, except for the mountain of dishes waiting to be cleaned...

I need to lease a slave.   The baking,cooking,roasting is all good fun, but it sure would be nice to have someone to clean up!

NOW ya tell me.  I would have gladly cleaned up everything in order to not have cooked all that stuff.  There is always next year!

In my kitchen, the rule is she who cooks, doesn't do the cleaning....of course, when cooking for one, the cook and the maid are the same!  dammit........

I'll do the cooking next year for anyone who will do the cleaning afterward!  I even have a dishwasher!

tazzygirl -> RE: Rent-a-slave (11/25/2010 5:32:21 PM)

Isnt that what Chinet is for?

Toppingfrmbottom -> RE: Rent-a-slave (11/25/2010 5:37:33 PM)

tazzy you can't coook food in chinet plates, if you could then I think Chinet would make a killing around the holidays.

I am personally against paper plates on holidays,  I think it's tacky and a waste of natural resources, but I am not the one washing the dishes, so paper plates it is lol.

LOL

We actually made reservations this year at the very nice Concourse downtown. Man, we filled our bellies to the bursting point! No muss, no fuss, the only sad part is no left overs. But... NO DISHES!

There's a place in Grapevine, Texas, that will sell slaves.  I'm positive it's legit.  I'll see if they rent them out.

MrKicia -> RE: Rent-a-slave (11/25/2010 5:55:09 PM)

I was going to clean the dishes.  We hosted at our house and everyone cooked.  we are our house, my parents at their house, my brother also cooked at my parents house.  Then we gathered at our house.  My mom voluntarily cleaned the dishes before she left.  My dad, brother and I slept on the couch.  My wife made a surprise dessert.  (RUMCAKE!)

No rentaslaves needed here.

subinlife -> RE: Rent-a-slave (11/26/2010 1:35:22 AM)

I cooked for two days, cleaning as I went.
Today son and his gf cleaned, lol
Kids are a good cleaning device.

Not me...i use disposable cooking pans whenever possible, and paper plates and cups. It is MY holiday too and i do not want to spend it cleaning up....the time with our families are too precious.
