has announced that they will be taking the string off tampons and
replacing it with tinsel. This is for the Christmas period only...

When I was seven I draped a piece of tinsel across the blades of a power plug. When I plugged it in the tinsel went off like a photoflash.

I am not bullshitting, I remember it clearly.

Actually at the time I had a full tower case and SCSI. Two power supplies even. The big blackout happened the day I tried to connect yet one more SCSI drive. Luckily I had gotten through the LLF on it at the time.

Also strange is that my power came back very quickly. Though I do own a UPS, the batteries are bad and it sits in a closet somewhere. I lost my glasses that day as well.

All those drives are either bad or thrown out, or bad and thrown out. I have paid my debt to society. In fact I paid it when I lost my blowout collection.

Everybody be cool. If you want electricity that is. If I can kill the grid in almost half of the US with the junk I had then, what do you think I can do now ? I mean I have parts from microwave ovens and laser printers, and I mean the big gnarly kind.
