ORIGINAL: Termyn8or Hunky, better watch for a Mod drop ! That's a misleading title. I expected something alot more fun due to the title. OK I have a dirty mind but I have a license for that (the only license in fact). Kidding aside, this is much ado about nothing. Wash that stuff in hot water with bleach and it's not going to spread any diseases I can think of on this planet. So it's a matter of pride in places where people eat dirt (clay actually) or spread dried cow manure all over their bodies to repel insects ? Someone needs to get their priorities straight. A similar issue has been raised about used medical supplies such as orthoses. Put the shit in an autoclave and ship it. Instead many thousands of dollars worth of used braces and such must be thrown in the garbage. Could the impetus be money ? Sell more orthoses, or in this case underwear ? Say it ain't so. Surely the motives are purely altruistic, nobody wants to make any money do they ? We live in a throwawy society. Unfortunately the current experiment is showing that the throwaway society will eventually throw itself away. I suppose some call that evolution. T Yep, you have got it right, somewhere in it is people making money, as there always is, just got to watch these statements like 'unsanitary' , 'health and safety' and 'public protection' they are euphanisms that can be used to hide a true purpose. But further to my earlier post on this subject, I just remembered, I have bought and worn used underwear, military surplus extreme cold, ( arctic grade) thermal long johns, a merino wool mix I believe, toasty is a word to describe. Now can anyone imagine something that could be as reesty as military underwear, yet they came to me clean and pong free and they have been through the wash many times since. Think the military steam wash the surplus to kill the nasties.
