I received a Vermont Country Store catalog in the mail last month, and I was really surprised to find that they sell a bunch of "vintage" perfumes, and other products. They have Tigress, Je Reviens, Joy, Wind Song, Emeraude, and lots more.

They also sell Filthy Farm Girl Soap....seriously! I'm thinking about trying it!

What really took me back to high school was the Lemon Up shampoo.....

Damn, I *lurv* perfume. But what a totally exasperating thread!

I knows what I likes when I *smells* it but all these brands people are posting mean nothing to me.... And considering a few too many contemporary perfumes that are popular with the ladies could double as insect repellent (ie Focus repellent, too), wellll, you see my frustration.... lol Errrrm, not sayin' I'm an insect, but....

But not during a scene, unless it's something really mild or subtle etc. Kinda like hair shampoo - where you have to get really close to notice it, as opposed to it invading my (head)space.

Focus.

I also like Therry Meigler Angel and Angel Innocense. They have vanilla tones too. They are 90 plus in the store. But you can get samples on Ebay and I bought one cheap that someone used a small amount then sold it. A good way to get the expensive stuff that you cant afford retail.

the original Angel is my signature scent. i have tiny samples of the violet and rose from ebay, and the violet is vy nice, but the original is still the best.

FR,

I was just thinking:  in future, rather than avoid awful arguments by putting 'no males to respond please' in a thread's title, people could just insert the word 'perfume' in that title instead.  Sorted.

I always think it's interesting to read what the guys have to say when these kind of threads are started.

For the record and in keeping with the original question....lately it's been patchouli, using a leaf taken straight from the plant, that I'll rub on my wrists or in other, more strategic, places.

Practical is good...especially when it smells of apples.

Greetings marsneedswomen,

I'm always wearing a scent of some sort and I have a several that I've become very fond of over the years. My favorites are Jasmal and Fleurissimo by the House of Creed, two offerings from Clive Christian and one from Hermes. As I've gotten older I shy away from the popular mainstream lines and opt for something different. However, I do maintain an affinity for Michael by Michael Kors merely for the seductive notes it carries.

Namaste,

~porcelaine

marsneedswomen,

Ms. __ wouldn't allow me to wear a scent beyond whatever was in my shampoo or body soap, brands of which were approved by Her.  She wanted to smell me, not some idea of me i wanted to give Her.  If we were playing dress-up, or going out, it was okay to wear whatever as long as it didn't clash with Hers and was so light that the only way anybody could smell it was when they were full-body-hug-close and they, yanno, huffed my neck or summffin'.
When it's my choice, it's an essential oil blend.  Right now it's Moon Magick's "Yule".

i could actually see some potentially horrible smelling humiliation scenes by using scents in play. *shudders*  Blech.

I collect perfumes but I have a few top favorites that I switch around... Armani Mania is one probably my  absolute favorite. I also really like Ed Hardy's Love and Luck and my newest favorite scent is Beyonce's Heat.  I have a couple of the Britney Spears perfumes but I don't wear them too often and I have about 4 different Victoria's Secret perfumes..

True.  We have all worked very hard on this thread to show an interest and I think we deserve credit indeed.

Funny, though: no woman here seems to give a crap what men consider to be a good perfume.  They probably believe, no doubt correctly, that most men wouldn't know and don't much care.  Myself, I don't care about a woman's smell either.  I just need to know that she can recognise a bar of soap and know what to do with it.

Angel by Thierry Mugler is my signature scent.  It's pretty much the only perfume I can wear without triggering my allergies.

I suspect that I am not alone in having an array of scented liquid soaps to choose from...white tea & ginger at the moment.

Ladies--what would you do if your mister hated your perfume?

I'd find another scent that I liked that he didn't object to - if Hubby doesn't think I smell good, it's kind of counter-productive. Same with My s-types. I've never had that happen, though - I'm pretty good about choosing scents that mix well with My body chemistry. I don't buy it unless I've tried it on.

That said, I have had to exercise veto power on some scents Hubby has chosen for himself in the past.

I love "Curious" by Britney Spears and Vanilla Musk by Coty. "Lady Stetson" is one I used to love but haven't had for awhile. Also, there's some brand that has a variety of scents such as cherry vanilla, strawberry, orange and lavender. It's not strong but smells great when used lightly. The brand name escapes me. "Exclamation" and "Sunflowers" are two I used a lot in the past but haven't for awhile. One other old standby is Love's Baby Soft. I still love that.........luci
