Anyone else getting these?   My email inbox has been flooded lately with requests from foreign diplomats either offering me jobs, telling me I have won a huge sum of money, or..they are stranded in a country and need my vast fortune to escape.

I used to get them, maybe once or twice a month...now, I'm getting 4-6 daily.

I tried blocking the individual senders, but it hasn't slowed the flow.  How do you stop this?  And yes, most of them have little grasp of the english language, grammar or spelling.

I have never received them.  Although yesterday I received a funny one: "I want to eat you badly".  Who wants to be eaten badly?

lol, my first response would be, "When you improve your skills, let me know"

I have gotten maybe one email from foreign diplomats a year, none lately.

Frankly, I shudder at the thought that there may be people stupid enough to believe that a foreign diplomat would scan collarme for prospective job applicants and offer them jobs on the spot, no interview.

I get one of those every few months.   You must have gotten put on a "Sucker" list for some reason.

Delete message without a reply, block sender, repeat as needed.
Simple, n'est ce pas?

No...not simple, lol

They flood my hotmail account until I over run my limit and cannot send or receive.   I did some research and discovered its spam, from another computer, that has my email attached to it, hence the reason they come back to me.  More then likely, from Facebook, or another group.

Blocking doesn't do any good.  I have spent hours copying each email addy and adding them to my blocked list.  Here is the response I got when I asked someone in the IT department at a large corporation:

quote:

The mail you're getting is no SPAM, per se, it's a reaction to SPAM.
Someone who has you in their address book has had their PC compromised and
the malware affecting their computer is hijacking your address, using it as
the sender address for the mail its sending out. The routers receiving
reject the message and properly attempt to return a reply to the sender,
which is your address. So you get the bounces.

I was told to set a new email account and keep it out of public forums or networking.  Gotta love technology!

gotta love the scammers, poor darlings are working so hard to provide the world with comic relief!

Here's the easiest answer I can give you;

Sign up for a Gmail account. Their spam protection surpasses that of hotmail by leaps and bounds.

playfulotter -> RE: REPLY ME IMMEDIATLEY (11/29/2010 9:46:22 AM)

That is funny because I get loads of spam on a GMail account I opened a few years ago just because for some reason a certain site wouldn't take my regular email address I use regularly. I basically only go into the GMail account to delete the spam I get and my hotmail account that I use everyday I barely get any spam in.
