LadyPact -> Another New Feature (11/28/2010 6:10:24 PM)

I'm starting to think that somebody out there in admin land really does love us.  I saw a new message today that was attached to some random crap that landed in My inbound email.  Here's the new flag:

*** The sender of this message has triggered our bulk content filter and has been prevented from sending additional messages at this time. We place these limits on our messaging system to prevent abuse and maintain the quality of our online community. You should not conclude that this user is fake or illegitimate merely because they have triggered the filter. ***
This is the first one of these that I've seen, but I think it's fantastic!

Seems a bit harsh to me.  Fat blokes have got as much right to send cmails as anyone else.  Poor show.

Ba-rump-pum-pum.

Twoshoes -> RE: Another New Feature (11/28/2010 6:27:04 PM)

I've seen that before. I get spammed all the time. Most of it is from Peon.

Phoenixpower -> RE: Another New Feature (11/28/2010 6:29:49 PM)

I had a similar one a while ago, though don't think to still have it but will double check later this week (as right now I am busy uni wise...or at least I should be focused on that). However the one I had received was some sort of warning that the email I received below their lines is reported to them to be from a person who tends to insult (whatever word was used from CM) people.

What is "our bulk content filter?"

LadyPact -> RE: Another New Feature (11/28/2010 6:37:28 PM)

I honestly don't know, angel.  Maybe too many messages sent that are being directed to people's bulk mail because they have their filters set?  (That's a guess, so don't take My word on that.)

Rule -> RE: Another New Feature (11/28/2010 7:14:54 PM)

I surmise that when a person sends out more than say fifty cmails per day he or she is categorized for that day as being a bulk sender of mails, triggering the filter.

What's your complaint?  Spam's great.  Admittedly it tastes like soap and gives you diarrhoea, but it fills you up.

subinlife -> RE: Another New Feature (11/28/2010 8:09:58 PM)

I have had a couple of those recently, just figured it was spam of some sort.

Iholdthestrings -> RE: Another New Feature (11/28/2010 8:16:26 PM)

I think that's pretty clever. I especially like the part where it points out that this may not be spam, and not to assume the sender is fake or what have you.

There's another another new feature though, and I'm not so sure about this one. I'm suddenly getting email alerts every time someone local to Me signs up for the site. I see the benefits, I guess, but I didn't get asked if I wanted those alerts...

soul2share -> RE: Another New Feature (11/28/2010 8:19:58 PM)

IHTS, click on it, and you'll see options to turn off the notification part, and you can also stop the e-mails the same way.  You can still check out the new users, it just doesn't make the button turn red, and you don't get e-mails.

InvisibleBlack -> RE: Another New Feature (11/28/2010 8:21:29 PM)

You can turn those e-mails off by clicking on the "Newest Local Users" button on the left side of your home page and then unchecking the "Send email notifications when local users join the site" on the bottom. I think they're only mistake was to make that checked by default when they implemented the feature.

DamnPickyDomme -> RE: Another New Feature (11/28/2010 8:39:17 PM)

what, now we're too lazy or stupid to set our own filters so the powers that be are doing it for us?

i think that's it. i've seen real people who triggered the filter. It just sends out a red flag to the site, and then they're passing that on to us. Then, after a day or so, the filter gets reset, so the person can send emails again without the red warning.

I seem to be having issues attaching threads tonight.  On the next page, there is a thread about the Newest Local User feature.  GT started the discussion.  http://www.collarchat.com/m_3481678/tm.htm
