The politics of this will be fascinating.  Traditionally, conservatives think that federal employees are overpaid, while liberals keep mum on the issue.  But conservatives also usually oppose anything that Obama proposes.  I wanna hear Limbaugh on this one.

As far as I can see, the only way to block this is to talk about how the federal employees are underpaid.  I can't see any Republicans making that case.  OTOH, I don't see the Dems wanting to vote for it.  Party unity will be tough on this one.

They could always argue "grr, mumble mumble...and that's why its a bad idea so lets do this other plan that saves more money"

mumble mumble being a more polite way to say B.S no one understands.

I'm all for it, myself. I hate much of what Obama is doing but we need to get out of debt so anything that saves money should be considered.

Steven, of course he does! That'll save what, ....$2.5 Billion a year right?
You don't think he'd cut,....oh......I don't know,.......*FOREIGN AID* and save $45 Billion a year do you? Why no, let's just hurt the working man while foreign "Leaders" take our money and buy the newest version of the Mercedes Benz "S" class!
I'm telling you, ten years from now we're going to be collectively asking ourselves, "WTF were we thinking!?"
Do a little experiment, next time you're in the supermarket checkout line and you're at the cash register turn around and ask for a show of hands on who voted for Oblunder.
This guy is turning out to be a real Dope!

Obama helped them out, why not return the favor? Three dozens firms will pay out 144B in bonuses. A few billions to support their protector and client would not be a problem

I think you are dead on that it will fun to watch, Steve. It's a risky step, though, politically. It could easily cost him more in the public employee unions, than he'll gain back among the independents with buyer's remorse.

The Republicans should get on this like white on rice, and let the fireworks go off in the Democrat caucus.

Any slowing of the growth, of the parasite known as the US government is to be praised. (MOST OF IT, ANYWAY).

However, I won't really be happy until I see a line of unemployed ex-government employees continuing their only known means of support in the private sector, which is begging the productive population for money. However, the offices and salary package for beggars in the real world is not as lucrative as they may be accustomed to.

What a beautiful day that would be.

So, a positive for Obama, but he has a mountain to climb to convince me, he's worth keeping around. I mean how many bankers are in jail to date? How many real investigations are going on into the biggest financial disaster of all time? How is Paulson and crew doing now that they got all that fresh money at the bottom of the market. How about an Accounting of who got all that money. When's that military budget getting cut?

The only way at this point I'd vote for Obama, unless he actually stopped screwing the working population immediately, and did an 180 in many areas, is if Palin gets nominated by the Repubs. Palin is scary stupid, IMO.

Anyway, 1 tiny step in the right direction, he's going to have to increase the rate of good decisions to convince me he's not harmful to the country.

Needto, and Oblunder is so bad that the lefties get real nervous whenever you mention "Palin."
Evidently they think Palin's a real threat to Oblunder.
They try to hide their fear with bravado; "Boy, I hope Palin does run!"
They have no idea how bad this guy is.
"Barak Oblunder, he's no Jimmy Carter, not even close!"

Jimmy Carter saying his prayers at night and chuckling; "And Dear Lord, THANKYOU, THANKYOU, THANKYOU for Barak Obama!

I hope she does run. Most Independents hate her. Some Republicans hate her. And many other Americans would rather see Palin go back to Alaska empty handed. And then there's the Democrats....

All of them will be highly motivated to vote Mr. Obama on a second term. As it'll come down to which do you want? Someone that can't handle a Governorship for two years, or a USA President would just finished a term in office?

But, keep up with your comedy show. You simply demonstrate why Mr. Obama should remain in office in 2012.

If you can't produce a citation for this 45 billion figure you keep coming out with, you should probably shut up about it.
