It is to our own needs and passions to which we are enslaved and through them enslaved to those that can most enhance and help us express them.

I also see it as balance. I give up my power and he protects, controls, and loves me. He gets my obedience to his will and I get the total freedom to be myself.

Now that's a post to take to the bank!...lol

Maybe you should open up a sub's training school.

Now thats a good slave. I hope that your actions speak louder than your words and that with you surrender is never conditional and always total.

It will always be conditional.  The condition being I surrender to someone I trust completely and totally.  Otherwise, no f-ing way.

Power exchange means this to me:

The legal right to have carte blanche sovereign dominion over the person and affairs of a submissive person who has agreed after informed consent to surrender control of themselves and their affairs.

Ireevocable/revocable GPA
Adult Adoption Agreement
Endentured Servitude
Adult Guardianship Order

These vary in content and power from state to state and nation to nation.

That is what power exchange means to me,a form of pseudo slavery.

I am thinking this nic was made just to critique those involved with BDSM. It is very obvious this person is not familiar at all with how it works...

And how is adoption a form of slavery?,... all I can say is wow

I think it's completely bad language.

A slave doesn't "give up" any power except that of authority.  It's all still there.  It doesn't just poof away.

And, if it's a healthy relationshp, the slave becomes MORE powerful, MORE able, MORE secure over time.

Needs and passions seem to denote emotions...emotions arise from biological functions as well as cultural definitions...understanding this gestalt, did a little looking to understand better...it seems that one area which allows emotions to exist is that we have a period between stimuli and behavior...with this cognitive 'time' allowed we interpret what we experience...the 'lower' brain functions not as much for the 'fight or flight' but apparently to symbolize our experiences...the neurochemical releases are then defined by what we 'feel'...all our interpretation. We start relating different stimuli to different physiological experiences with in and our reaction to those internal feelings are defined as those to embrace or shun...We become 'addicted' to our chemistry if you will...how we react is due to our narratives...

Leading me to the fact that within this dynamic, we feel __________ and want to continue experiencing that...just as one might feel loved, aroused, angry, frightened when 'A' happens another might feel different. All down to the narratives we tell ourselves in defining our experiences, our selves, our path....

Crikey, this is like deja vus - all over again!

I thought this sounded familiar so I checked in sezM846's  recent "Who's really in control?" thread and there it was, word for word - *twice*, on two different pages!

Says you've made 244 posts - I can't help thinking it's 1 post, 244 times!  lol

Focus.
