Hate to inform you the video takes much of its material out of context. I could create a video showing people firing semi-auto and full auto firearms, and state the Founding Fathers never thought those would be in the hands of the common man, who REALLY wanted the King's laws and religion. I could give it nice, music, and some idiot to rattle off an absurd list of details that supposively links everything together.

This video is simply fear mongerings. And WHICH political party thrives on fear? Shouldn't be to hard. And WHO are they targeting? Here's a hint: Their the ones who keep voting in the folks of the first question.

The amount of gold and silver used and consumed is only about 5% of what is availible in the world. The grand majority of it, will never see a useful form (i.e. for consumption), but instead remain in its mined/smelted form. Its rather funny to think about the Commodities Market. Lumber, Cattle, Steel, even Wheat (and soon, H2O), are commodities traded, and slated for actual consumption for entities big and small. How much of the Cattle Market is traded in a given month? Nearly all of it, with a few percentage points carried to the next month. Gold & Silver, are the exact opposite condition.

So while this video does its best to put fear into people, the calm and educated will understand that large corporations would have untold problems switching to gold & silver for trade. For starters, much of their business depends on the common man for survival. How long would McDonalds remain in business, if we switch to gold & silver? Ford? Boeing? All of them would be severly crippled if not destroyed. Given that, each of them have alot to gain keeping a stable value of currency in place. We Americans, obviously would like that to be the USD. The Europeans, the Euro. And so on, for each nation or collection of nations.

If you want to 'stock up' on gold and silver, for the coming 'End Times', go right ahead. Just contact your local suvivialist nutjob for help in how to go about it. They all voted for McCain and are STILL in the bunkers waiting for the end of the world that was suppose to come a decade ago. I'm sure, they are the 'best' ones to contact for understanding the future of international trade, and more importantly, your living status.

You have no idea how much I did!   I am all in.          !!!    Yay for 6,000 years of history.

Elisabella -> RE: The Madness of a Lost Society (12/1/2010 8:10:30 PM)

I'm impressed. This video is much better than that terrible cartoon TTS thing you posted last time. That shit needed subtitles.

Anyway, the uneducated poor acting like monkeys in a barrel isn't anything new. When the US was founded, nobody expected people like that to vote. There were literacy and property requirements.

But yeah, I do my Black Friday shopping online. Swear I'm going to risk being trampled at Wal Mart for some cheap off brand DVD player that will break in 6 months.

At least gluttony then (which is a form of greed, in my estimation).  And they go past full, ask any mother with puke all over their shoulder, getting ready to go out.

I wonder how long an infant's brain takes to register that its stomach is full, and if gorging can occur during the lag time. Just sayin'.

So then, you are proposing the continuation of the current monetary system?

With one exception, I find the idea of jumping through hoops most unappealing; whether that be submitting to TSA screenings or waiting in line to shop on Black Friday, to mention two recent examples.

So unless I encounter an unavoidable emergency or I win a non-transferable free vacation, I simply won't fly. And I'm certainly not going to compete with others to net bargain retail items.

Aneirin -> RE: The Madness of a Lost Society (12/3/2010 8:21:51 PM)

Silver is a very useful metal, and could make the difference with survival, because silver for whatever reason purifies water, hence the wealthy of the past using silver drinking vessels and the old silver spoon. Also early surgical knives were made from silver, bung them in water and they become sterilised.

Gold is sodding useless, it is colour only if your life depended on it, great on a dull day, but that is about it.

lickenforyou -> RE: The Madness of a Lost Society (12/4/2010 4:24:56 PM)

LOL! some people are just so willing to believe every conspiracy theory that comes down the pike.

Yes, I suppose this is just as true as other people willing to believe everything the state and the mainstream media tells them.

Is there a specific conspiracy theory to which you are referring?

May we assume that your comment wasn't in response to Aneirin's previous post?

Yes, both is true. In fact most people are willing to believe everything the state and the mainstream media tells them. However, most conspiracy theories are based on misrepresentation of facts.

And, I don't really know what Aneirin'spost is about.

Silver is up over 291% since TARP.    Anerin holds some of that conspiratorial silver.    (as do I)

In fact-  291% does not cover this week.    Add another 10+ %.    HA

You do realize that gold and silver have very few marketable uses, so they are comparable to the fake money you condemn.

This is common for people who haven't done their research. Silver especially is basically the infrastructure of the future. Everything electronic is made of silver and there's no replacement. I wouldn't be commenting if you had only been a little wrong. You're really, really wrong, and you're not alone - but the world is beginning to catch on. When it does - watch out! Goodbye fiat money.

Many would say that the state and mainstream media aren't far removed from misrepresentation of facts either.

The value of gold, silver, paper money, real estate, or any tangible, are what the people ultimately place upon them. While it does appear that the confidence level of precious metals is currently sailing high, it may pay to consider that people are quite fickle when dealing with fear and greed, and tend to be easily manipulated. As the old saying goes, it's probably best not to place all eggs in one basket.

The money changers in the temple have been running their paper game for quite a long time now. It may be a bit naive to underestimate their concentration of wealth and power, especially when the focus of the general populace is elsewhere.

lickenforyou -> RE: The Madness of a Lost Society (12/4/2010 11:42:25 PM)

I don't know what snip means.

If you have the gold or silver stashed somewhere that you can get to it, that's great. But if you are invested in gold or silver through a broker you can kiss it goodbye if everything goes to hell.

AnimusRex -> RE: The Madness of a Lost Society (12/5/2010 3:55:42 PM)

I watched the link, nodding as the narrator describe the madness of a consumer society devoted to the obscene pursuit of trinkets and status symbols; then laughed out loud when he smoothly sequed into wondering if any of these sheeple owned any precious metals.

A fucking morally bankrupt jackal trying to fleece the sheep by dangling shiny metal in front of them promising that it will somehow make their lives better.

Instead of trying to make our society better and more just, the idiots are just concered with making sure that they have enough shiny metal on hand to be able to conyinue to buy Cheetos and play WoW.

I agree.

Nicely put.

The  "/snip"     indicates the end of a quote.    It saves space on taking the whole post- when a sentence is meant for the reply.
