Now I know's it annoy's the grammar nazi's so much, I might do this all the time. Why is it that so many people seem to be unable to just deal with it?

Because bad style makes you look like an idiot when you're trying to talk to people who only perceive you through the text you write.
I'd have thought that was pretty obvious. Still, thanks for admitting that you're only out to wind people up instead of trying to argue coherently.

By my standards he's a right leaning centrist. By yours, he may well be Pankhurst and Marx's lovechild.

Come on, we are talking about Dennis Kucinich here.

A right-leaning centrist?

I don't think there is a politician in this country who is more left-leaning.

But now that we are on the subject, I hear this frequently from Brits and Canadians, that our left is your right.

So maybe you can explain to me what the standards you mentioned consist of.

Socialists (as defined by Marx, rather than Limbaugh) are the left. Everybody else is the right, or maybe centrist if they're in favour of socialised medicine.
Kucinich is very left leaning for an American politician (and certainly makes all of this bullshit about the Kenyan being a marxist look risible), but isn't quite as far left as John Wilkes or Aneurin Bevan.
(And I don't mean that as a diss: there isn't anybody in the commons who's that far to the left, sadly.)

It's a cultural difference then really.

Sort of like the difference between you saying crisps and we say chips.

And the God-awful habit you have of driving on the wrong side of the road.

Fuck all this shit hertz. Get your head out of the box. This is all a show for us to enjoy while they continue to steal the wealth of the people. Don't you get it ? It has been going on since the dawn of civilisation.

These paltry issues mean nothing. The human race is still akin to a child. Easily distracted. They tax and tax and try to say the money is used for the People, and even the CAFR doesn't tell the truth. When there are people as rich as they are, and people as poor as they are, there is no way in hell that all the fatcats are worth their salt and everyone who's poor is a lazy idiot. Under normal circumstances that would be plausible. Now it is not.

They are as if they are pulling you along by a ring in your nose. While you might like that in the more literal sense, when it comes to live and it's other aspects, it is highly undesirable.

Lemme give you [all] some good advice. Imagine yourself a visitor to this planet from another world. Look at the big picture. Disenfranchise all of your percieved societal norms, detach from your human emotions and just take a look. Consider yourself a superior being, at least for the time being, when you recieve that supposed information they feed us.

Now think, do we care about lower species' that treat those of different gender or even hair color differently ? No, we accept it as their way. Do we pity the death of male Black Widow spiders ? You have to get to this level. Once there, you can see the big picture. And I dare say that picture is blinding to those who are unprepared.

Look at this "human" race sometimes from the telescope's eye [figuratively] and you might just see what you don't want to see. But with any luck, you might be able to handle it. The process is simple - take. You see it every day. All the names people wear mean nothing. And we all take.

We all take.

When the expert takers detect that they might be going too far they provide a distraction in the form of groups. These serve to divide the people who are taken from. That way in time "everything blows over". It's just part of the game.

I think the far-left liberal's running the democrat's might be moderate's.But they look like extremist's because the republican's are so far to the right, presumably dragged there, kicking and screaming, by the teabagger's.I guess my point is that actually, there is no middle ground, and therefore no moderate's.

Bollock's!

The basic problem i's that, while those on the far left are generally aware that they're on the far left (and usually perfectly happy with that), there's a large grouping on the far right in any given country that is weirdly unaware that it's on the far right.

It's just in the nature of those sorts of right-wingers.  They believe that their knowledge comes from 'common sense', 'attachment to the earth and to nature', 'intuition' and 'grasp of the real world'. They have all this, they feel, and assume that it must be worth more than any mere 'rational' knowledge about society and/or empirical evidence.

When I look at the USA, I see the richest people in the world making a virtue out of greed and selfishness.  'Jeez', I think, 'How can a society so wealthy that obesity is an epidemicstill consider that it doesn't have enough wealth to look after the health and general well-being of its poorest?'  Hell's bells.  Here in the UK, I'd be considered a bit of a liberal-lefty.  In the US, I'd be considered an outright, likely-dangerous, 'goddamn pinko commie sonofabitch'.

Heh.  As one of our senior, right-wing conservative MPs once put it, 'We just don't have Republicans in this country'.  It's true.  The most extreme, far-right groups like the National Front or the British National Party could never even hope to produce someone so electorally-popular as Sarah Palin.

I don't think there is a place for 'wishy washy' moderates. Pick which side of the fence you want to be on and do everything possible to defeat your'e opponent. This is not a game, it is real life.

Hmmmm... have you all ever thought that perhaps you are the radicals and the rest of us are moderates? You know differing points of view taken to the extremes. I would say the majority represent the moderates and they voted for people who agreed with their views.

So the bottom line…as long as we have the right to vote the winners will be the moderates.

It makes at least as much sense as the OP rates, Lucy.

If you want a reasonable conversation, leave out the partisanship and name calling in the thread starter. If you introduce yourself as the hospitality pig, somebody is going to stick needles in your tits.

No... you see I vote on issues not party

PS... I guess I'm not a moderate because I voted for the losers here in Missouri.

lol...bet you had to look up and see which party won in Missouri...There are a lot of people on these boards that would argue with your assessment.

I don't think that's correct about the teabaggers. *The Voters* put the Republicans in office because so many people are dissatisfied with the Democrats and Oblunder.
From what I can see many of the teabaggers don't really like the republicans. It's not a "republican" movement it's a movement for change like Oblunder was supposed to do. He's been in office now for almost two years and all he's managed to do is to piss off the American People.
