Easy. A slave is a sub, just more so. There is some kind of definite demarcation between the two, and everyone has a different idea of where that dividing line is. But everyone agrees that a slave is more "extreme".

To me the choice to became a slave was practically my last choice to make. :)
And ofcourse it isnt a stupid question!You cant ask any in my opinion.Just go with the advices the others already gave you, be patient, read alot, talk to different kind of people and trust your gutfeeling.
And remember; having these feelings does NOT mean you have to obey to everyone.(And there are so-called-Doms that will try to get you to do that).

O...I just read that there has been millions of topics and fights about those stupid labels, haha!So I wont go there :P
It doesnt really matter anyway I think.
My Master for excample is a true Master to me, yet He has never read anything on bdsm in His life and isnt interested in forums or things like that.And I am.It doesnt matter.
Also, its very good that you think about things you wouldnt be comfortable with.If you want an exclusive relationship, then you shouldnt get involved with someone who wants a poly-household.Theres nothing wrong with that.
We all have hard limits, and they should be respected.First of all by yourself.

I agree, I can't say that a slave is necessarily anything more than a sub that calls themselves a slave.
