I don't remember.

But I do know that every one of my students yesterday knew who John Lennon was and why he was important.

With or without your influence?

I saw a news flash, Chuck Scarborough in NY who delivered the news that John Lennon was shot and killed.  Don't know what  I was watching before or after, it didn't seem important.  I knew that a Beatles reunion would never ever be possible anymore.  That was always a hope that someday they would do one more set.  The next day I went to work and as each person walked through the door the conversation was something like "Did you hear....?"  Everyone somberly acknowledged that Yes, we already heard.  John Lennon and Beatles songs played all day on the radio.  Everyone tried to contemplate on why this senseless thing happened.

Id think that a Beatles reunion with Ringo, Paul and Julian would work just fine as Julian's voice is very near his fathers.

In my mother's living room, listening to the radio while she was cooking.

My first reaction was "they shot John not Ringo?!".

Isn't that the way the world is? They're always shooting the wrong Beatle.

Thats encouraging to hear.  Music has evolved over the years, it's nice to know some younger folks still keep track of who has come before :)

I only remember Christmas shopping at the Alhambra Complex and how the piped in music changed from Silver Bells, to Beatles!   It wasn't until I got to my car that I understood why.

That's a bit harsh, Ringo did some amazing work in Thomas the Tank Engine.

The best single thing George Martin ever did for the Beatles was to make them find a new drummer before before he'd assent to recording them .
