MrKicia -> December toy of the month: COLLARS! (12/8/2010 6:31:26 PM)

The goal of these threads is to share information and experiences with the different sex toys we use in the BDSM community.

Please share what toys you like or dont like.  What works best for you and how you use it.  Please be aware that everyone is entitled their own opinions, arguing over those opinions is surely not going to change anyones minds.

With that said, this month will be all about COLLARS. I will start us off, enjoy!

Ok, just a preface about my wife and I, we are beginners.  So they toys that I post are just beginners toys.

We have only one collar so far, and ive only worn it maybe once or twice.  But I had no complaints with it those times.  Its a fairly simple leather locking collar.  Fits great.  Id love to add some nipple clamps with this collar.

Ok, not an expert but a collar is a must have, I use a  3 ring like you posted. The rings are great, I have several short lengths of chains with double ended snaps that  I can put on the rings and use to position her. Chain her to walls or the bed. My fav is still to snap the chains to nipple clamps and to her collar there is something about the sight of those little chains going from her nipples to her neck that gets me going.
The double ended chain snaps really add alot to the use of the collar.
Plus the symbol that a collar can have is turn on in itself, along with some of the ritual that might be involved during playtime
But you have to be a little carefull pulling and tugging to fast at a collar could end up doing some damage to someones neck.

I just think collars are great and appeal to so many levels.

We recently received a Hephaistos collar from Axsmar and it is beautiful. A bit heavy, but beautiful. We also have a patent leather posture collar from the late Amy Crowder, and it is also lovely. When discretion is required we have a Tiffany silver chain with lock charm. She is never without one or another.

I got http://stockroom.com/Deluxe-SSLeather-Collar-P1140.aspx that I wear as a part of my "club-wear".  It looks good and is surprisingly very comfortable and soft on the inside. The steel part of it is easily bendable, so that you can adjust it if needed. I don't use that collar a lot during play, since it is not as comfortable as full leather collars and sleeping in it is not ideal.

I got this collar thinking that 2 D-rings could be useful. In retrospect, I should have gone with single D-ring (cheaper) version and gotten a 3 D-ring collar that OP linked (which I am getting today).

I'm a trainer and specialize in "pup-play". To me and my pups the "giving of the collar" is a very special moment and a very important part of the whole experience.

When I "collar-my-dog" I try to give him or her a collar that I feel suits the best.

I love to check out the site of PlayPup.eu at http://www.playpup.eu/shop/index.php/collars.html

My Mistress has me wearing an Eternity Collar(http://eternitycollars.com/product_info.php?cPath=18_44&products_id=30), and it's great. It hasn't come off once, and it's plenty comfortable sitting just above the C7 vertebrae(the bone at the back of your neck) . It locks with an allen screw, and it passes in 'nilla society. I get compliments all the time on it, winks from those in the know, and I was even asked where I bought one in a job interview.

I really love that it's nice and heavy so I always feel it but not *too* heavy. I was worried about it carrying too much inertia and straining my neck if I ever came to a sudden stop(jumping, stomping on the brakes of a car, etc etc), but after rolling a fucking car at the end of October with it on and walking out of it without even whiplash, I'm not so worried.

I have no idea where or even if it's possible to get that collar but a search for chevron collars will turn up similar designs.

It's my humble opinion that collars are best when homemade (or at least custom made to personal specifications). Beyond being a type of bondage equipment, it's a symbol and should express the individuality of relationship it represents.

Yes that is true. but if you don't have the required skills or the equipment to make one you have to resort to buying one, which is sadly true in my case!
