This belongs in the humor section. It's satire re: wikipedia. The Landover Baptist Church is a fictional[1] Baptist church based in the fictional town of Freehold, Iowa. The Landover Baptist web site and its associated Landoverbaptist.net Forum are a satire of fundamentalist Christianity and the Religious Right in the United States.

The main site is here: Where the Worthwhile Worship. Unsaved Unwelcome! And while nobody has issued a "fatwa" against its creators yet, the fundies are working hard to have it shut down... We at OBJECTIVE: Ministries have gotten a lot of questions about our Landover "Baptist" Shutdown campaign by both Christians wanting to know more about the problem and what they can do to help as well as unsaved people who have been kept in the dark by their control-hungry Atheist leaders. Ironically, they're afraid people will think it's for real... Of course we realize that Landover is all make believe, that is why we oppose it. Landover is trying to pass itself off as a real Baptist church in order to spread misconceptions about Christians in general and Baptists in particular, as well as perverting the message of Jesus so as to make it unpalatable to people ignorant of the Lord. How's that for a hoot! Next foot, please. [:D] K.

I can go along with it being satire but they do a very good job of using several bloggers to back up their zealotry. (ignorance) I showed my friends and to a person and from the outset...thought it satire. It is damn funny though and I wonder if it is to draw out the real fanatics.
