I like that there are sooooooo many groups that are not kink / sex focused.  I love being able to have discussions about movies, art, cooking, marathons, writing, etc. over there.  The discussions are really great!   I've tried to do that over here several times, but the discussions fizzle out pretty quickly but they don't so much over there.

I don't like that so many things on FL are at the whim of some yahoo that decided to start a group and then to kick people out for disagreeing with them.  There seems to be a lot of big egos over there... and many don't deserve to have those big egos - big fish in a small pond more or less. 

But I come here for bed bud and the hottie totties.  Lots more flirting here.  SOooo... I guess it depends on what I'm thinking with really....

One of these days, when I actually behave myself long enough to get my sinuses properly drained, I may record an audio clip on the other side... but that would require giving up all the delicious yummies that make me congested in the first place. Hmm, decisions, decisions...

I like both sites, however, I tend to ask more questions and post a bit more on Fetlife as their groups aren't nearly cut and dry as CM.

In addition, I've noticed that when you ask a question on FL, you get more replies as the entire site is pretty much a forum. I was on CM for at least 6 months before I realized there was a forum.

I didn't answer the poll because I seriously feel that a third option of liking each site for different reasons was lacking.

I've said for a long time that the huge benefit to Fet is the ability to find local groups and events in your area.  While CM has an Upcoming Events section, it is way under utilized and often, typing in a city to see if anything is happening near you won't even bring up a result.  For local people, munches, and events Fet is definitely the way to go.

However, I actually prefer CM for the forums.  I prefer having fewer groups so that I can find and follow discussions, rather than having to track down and join various groups for topics.  I'm another one who doesn't particularly care for the white on black background.  I actually don't post there much unless I'm already on Fet because I'm doing something locally and I happen to notice something that catches My interest.  I've dabbled on that site more since I did an event in October and another yesterday.  Now that those commitments are complete, I may not even see the boards there until the next event I plan to be a participant.

I prefer CM because I enjoy the Message Boards here. I hate Fet's forum layout. I also hate every time I make a change to my profile or post, it gets broadcast to everyone on my friends list.

I use Fet to keep track of events, who is going where and when. It is good for that.

I don't really like fet's open source blog style posting. Like it has been said, to incohesive.

Just different tools, that really don't need to be compared to each other because they serve different purposes, in my opinion.

I agree with the others who like both, but for different reasons.

Though I am not actively seeking a sub or slave at this time, I definitely prefer Collarme for conducting a personal search.  I am easily able to do searches for male submissives in my state within a particular age range, and I can see how many miles away from me they are.  True, I get a lot more extraneous mail on Collarme, but I like the feature where you can place your cursor by the message and see what it says without opening it.  I dislike the fact that you show up in someone's "Who's Viewed Me List."  I'd rather read someone's profile and list of interests without leaving a footprint.  I like seeing the list of who has recently joined the site.  There are a couple of local pests who delete one profile and just create another and it gives me a heads up so I can block the new name right away.

I run a Femdom group and Fetlife works really well for me for promoting that group.  It's also an easy way for me to oganize the list of upcoming events I plan to attend.  There are also quite a number of special interest groups I have joined on Fetlife geared to some of my more specalized interests, both kinky and vanilla.  I have met some very intriguing people into some of the more obscure things I'm into and had some interesting discussions.  In addition, I learn what's going on in my friends' lives through the feed.

So I couldn't really say which one I prefer.  I think they both have their purposes.

I like both. Fet has more specific groups and that I think is a benefit in some ways over the generalized boards on CM. As with most things in life there are benefits and drawbacks to each.

I like both, for different reasons.

The layout at FL took a little getting used to, but I've found some cool groups that do have a cohesive feel, and those are the groups I frequent there. 

I find some of the M/s discussions there more appropriate to what I personally relate to, and the discussions to be really open and interesting.  So, I go to both.

I also like that I can join groups on cooking or wine or pretty much any other kind of topic.  And I can easily see my group lists, and if there are recent comments to it. 

I've found a level of community in both sites - each site has a slightly different feel.

I was on FL first, and "warned" about how bad CM was, that it was nothing but a meat market yadda yadda. Someone had their info wrong. At least in my case and since I've started participating on the boards.

I don't like that you can't delete any messages you receive, I've got some that have been on there for 600 days +, every change you make is recorded on your wall and the groups are just too varied and hard to follow when you do join one and then post to it.

And there's just as much trash sent there as here, or so I've found, this is my opinion only. I've had the rude nude shots, the rude messages. It was handy for the local munch I attended, but I went to about 3 or 4 and they were a small set group who didn't accept new members very well.

So now, I'd rather hang out here, having made some great friends and participated or followed some interesting threads. It's a whole lot easier to read than the white on black background also as many people have stated previously.
