I agree, I think that FL is good for people looking for local groups nearby but for some reason it doesn't really inspire the same feeling of community and helpfulness as CM does. I mean, if I have a question I'm way more likely to come to the boards here and ask than I would on FL.

First off I really dislike the white on black format of fl.
Beyond that, groups are small with not much happening in each simply because there are so many groups.
I have no interest in spending hours looking at each group individually to see if any of them might attract me.
And the way each group is moderated differently annoys me.

I much prefer it here, more movement on a board, you know what to expect of the mods. And much less tiring to read, which is important to me.

I tried FL, I do not like the layout, it feels disjointed, too many groups, no cohesion.

I don't like the layout of FL, i like the message boards here where you go one place to see all of the discussions instead of having to join groups and then have to check to see what the discussions are etc. Just seems like a lot of time and work. I also don't like how the profiles broadcast what you are doing in the groups on a profile etc. It just seems weird to me.

All in all, i like simplicity and i don't think FL is simple.

I don't like the layout of FL. I don't like the way forums and groups are set up and they just seem to be all over the place and it rarely seems there's any kind of conversation going on other than random talking.

I like both for different reasons. I like keeping up with my friends on Fet, knowing what they're posting & where. I still post over here also, but pretty much only below the fold. Each site has their strong & weak points IMO. It's the same reason I like to shop in different stores & not just stick with one.

The only reason one needs to join a group over on Fet is to be able to post on a thread. You can browse to your heart's content otherwise. And you can set your notifications so that you don't get notified every time a new thread is started.

I almost never get random sexual solicitations, dick pictures or crude remarks in my inbox on Fetlife. Maybe once or twice a year. On Collarme, any female profile will be subject to a really ugly deluge of yuck in her inbox in a matter of hours, even if it's a social only, seeking friends profile that says not to email with any kind of solicitation other than friendship.

So yeah, I like FL better. It helps me stay in touch with my local community, make RL friends, keep track of local events and basically functions like a kinky Facebook. It's not a meat market site, or a universally accessible one, and that works out well for me.

There are things I like and dislike about both sites. The FL forums are great because they allow anyone to start a forum on any topic they wish but then they're horrible in the fact that navigating them and keeping track of new ones is a root-canal-level ordeal. CM forums lack flexibility and are in serious need up an update (to vBulletin perhaps, please???) but are much easier to go through.

I like the FL profile system much better than CM's. Much more flexibility and the lack of a specific search feature means you get significantly fewer random emails from drooling idiots. I don't use chat or video chat so the fact that FL doesn't have these is a plus as far as I'm concerned. They tend to attract more of the lowest common denominator.

Since I've got friends on both sites and there isn't anything horrible enough about either to make me want to bail and use just one of them, I'll continue to use both for the foreseeable future.

I almost never go to FL. I hate the white on black screen, hate having to join the groups just to reply to something that someone posted that may be interesting, and who can find topics that are of interest? Blech... I only like that you can post more photos on your profile than you can on CM. Other than that, it offers nothing to me.

Sadly, there are still an overabundance of dick pics on FL. It's offset by the decreased number of inane cum-ons due to the inability to see local people who are online, which I consider a huge plus.

CM is my online home, and I am most comfortable her, though outside of P & RS the place bores me silly...

I own a few local groups on FL, so there are cats to herd, and I have "met" a load of fun folks from around the country/world. I love being in groups where I can be as evil as I please, and say any damn thing, and fucking BANTER if I want to. The white on black is easier for me to read. I hate the lack of cohesion, the way the site supports hatemongering of all kinds, and OMG the level of concentrated stupidity...eeee!

I like Collarme because it is easier to sort though profile's.I also like the message board's on CM better as well,much easier to read and post message's... I like Fetlife because it does help me know what's going on im my local community.Fetlife is very good with that.Plus,because they is such a large variety of different group's on Fetlife,it's easier to find people who maybe into the thing's your into.... I do use Collarme alot more,but I do use Fetlife at time's... Like I said,both site's have their own benefit's.

I forget that I have a profile on Fet sometimes, I'm there so infrequently. Have yet to join a group or make a post, have yet to even look for anything on there because the layout of it just doesn't jive with me. I much prefer the CM layout and organizational structure.
