Generosity is not something anyone should have to explain or apologize for. It's a great virtue. It isn't directed towards you, so it makes no difference that you seemingly don't know to graciously accept. There are many, many ways to burn one's money, if one wants to. These people clearly have a lot of money, but don't tell me they're giving it away to charities, because they can't think of anything to do with it. Have you heard of 100 million dollar houses, boats, clothing, paintings? All a huge waste, inhumane conspicuous consumption is in vogue, didn't you know? I find the humanity of these wealthy people inspiring... In fact, it's the only time I love wealthy people; when they also happen to be kind, generous, and humane (redundant, I know). M
