I'm fed up with shaving my chest and back and want to start waxing instead. Less chance for razor bumps and missed hairs. But I don't know anything about waxing. I already have a bunch of reusable fabric strips, but I'm not sure what kind wax to buy. Somone told me most waxes require you to heat them up before using them. Is this true? I'd prefer using a wax that could be used at room temperature, if they exist. Also, I am aware of Nair, but that doesn't work on my chest hair.

Maybe you should get waxed professionally first and see if you like it.

LOL, well if he's a masochist there is a chance that he will like it but yes, getting it professionally done and watching how it's done would make a lot of sense instead of trying around...

To the OP, there is hot and cold wax, cold wax usually doesn't work very well.

If I remember correctly, Nads does not require heating.

A word of caution... waxing is painful.  Over time, you will become more accustomed to it and the hairs will grow in more finely, but it will never be painless.

You might also have great difficulty in waxing your own back.  It is a two-handed operation.

It might be a bit costly, but have a professional do it for the first time or two so you can get the hang of it. You could probably ask questions about the process while you're there too. It hurts like heck, be prepared. After being waxed, apply a deoderant daily to the waxed area to avoid red bumps.

I like what the waxed area feels like at first but then you have to wait for the hair to grow out in order to wax it again, so all in all you don't get to spend much time hairless. My partner and I decided to just keep me closely trimmed.

Hmm maybe I will rethink the waxing thing. Sounds really painful. And although i am a masochist, I don't think I'd enjoy the pain if some stranger were doing it. lol. Anyays, I checked out that Nads website and it sounds like it works better on chest hairs than Nair does. I think I might try it. Thanks for the link.
