Disgraceful. Visa and Mastercard were only taking a valiant stand with the poor, downtrodden governments of the world against that all-powerful bullying tyrant, Assange. Is there no courage left in the world today?

I should probably put Iceland on my travel plans. Sounds like a good place to go for some seafood and a nice swim. I'm sure they have several other pleasant attributes also.

I'd boycott them if I could find a viable alternative. Visa and Mastercard seem to hold a virtual monopoly over credit and debit cards in the UK. Maybe I'll just satisfy myself by finding someone to complain to about their domination of the market...

If they come up with something sensible, I'd happily switch with them. Maybe there's an opening for someone new to come in?

Failing that, I wonder if American Express have a toe-hold in Iceland? They could probably mop up any business lost to Visa and Mastercard...

The irony of credit card companies being banned from Iceland is stunning, given Icelend credit record.

Whats worrying is how much pressure did the US put on the Icelandic Government.
