JstAnotherSub -> I might not be right in the head... (12/14/2010 1:57:34 PM)

I got this for a present today, and I had more fun with it than should be legal.  My principal is convinced, yet again, that I am insane.  I sweetly told him I wouldn't put it up where kids could see it.

And now, I find this clip, and think dammit I shoulda thought about sound effects!

It seriously disturbs me that people give this stuff to kids. Folks spend hours bitching about how Barbie creates an unrealistic standard of beauty that will subconsciously affect kids' minds, everything has to be so carefully monitored and dumbed down...

And we give them toys that encourage them to eat poo. [:'(]

THIS IS NOT PROGRESS PEOPLE! *grumbles and curls up in her blankie*

Heck, I know parents who have put that in their own kids stockings!!!!!  Nothing's wrong with you......I've had several of those!  Given a few, too!

YUour principal is a stick in the mud.....oh, wait....why not get HIM one for his stocking?  [:)]

I already gave the principal a dammit doll.  It is a little doll with a cute poem on it telling you to grab it by the legs and slam it on the table yelling dammit dammit when you want to scream.

He is really awesome.  My insanity is part of my charm where he is concerned.

And I didn't put it where kids could see it.  I kept it in my office unless taking it to give out jellybeans!  I have to admit, when my son was a teen, I would have given him one if I had seen it.  If that made him wanna eat real poop, well, I would think he aint quite right in the head either-lol.

Now I have to find more chocolate jellybeans for tomorrow.

I know. It's just what I have associated with them because when I got these, I got 'em as a gifts when I was a kid. And I continue see them being given to kids. And I just kinda... stare and go "Seriously? Seriously? We give 'em toys that have them eating poop but freak out over a vibrating Harry Potter broom?".

WAIT!! Where can I get a vibrating Harry Potter broom?? That sounds way more useful. Especially given my present circumstances.

But seriously, folks! It's a joke!! Nobody thinks you should be eating poop, darlin. When my daughter was young I got this container of some sort of goo that when you push your fingers into it it would make fart sounds. I LOVED that toy. *wanders off to see if I can order one online*

Linnaea, I know it's a joke. It just drives me bonkers what toys do and do not get attacked. To me, if we are going to take toys seriously, the ones that involve poo-eating should be the first ones to go.

But yes the vibrating brooms were real. They were a number of years ago - I think when the movies first started coming out. They vibrated and made some noise but people started getting upset when teen girls became too fond of them.

Who said that only teenage girls enjoy them?  *looks for her broom*

I buy my daughter gag gifts like this as gifts because I KNOW she hates them and will roll her eyes at me like I'm some kind of freak.

It's fun. lol

Shouldn't this have been on a scat thread?

DesFIP -> RE: I might not be right in the head... (12/14/2010 6:41:50 PM)

I used to have a reindeer poop recipe. Made treats for holiday parties at pre-school. The kids just loved it. I looked up a couple recipes but nothing looks right.

My niece went thru a "Kiss" phase when she was about ten. Being the good aunt that I am, I saw a T-Shirt with Gene Simmons and the tongue hanging out as far as it would go. Of course I just had to get it for her, knowing she would love it, but my sister and her hubby would absolutely hate it. She was thrilled, I got looks that could kill from her parents. Of course, what are aunts for except to spoil their nieces and give them something they know their parents are going to hate?

My parents then went out the next year and got her a full set of drums. To be kept at sis' home of course. Parents can exact revenge in such a good way. And I was always known for buying my friends kids gifts that their parents wouldn't. Such as playdoh one year, and then lego the next year. Kids loved me, parents weren't so thrilled. And these were inocuous gifts!!

ShaharThorne -> RE: I might not be right in the head... (12/15/2010 4:32:29 AM)

One year, I gave the set of nephew the niece the yellow set of the robot banks where the arm would flip up and deposit the coins in his mouth...

sure enough, I drove my brother crazy.[:D]
