The Dims don't seem to realize the party's over.
With the government set to run out of money on 12/18, they just introduced a 1,924 page, 1.1 trillion dollar omnibus spending bill containing 6000 earmarks. All that is necessary is a stopgap, keep-the-doors-open measure until an actual budget can be writted and read by the Congress.
The Rs better filibuster this; I hope anybody and everybody who votes for it gets defeated in 2012. Every. Last. One.

Musicmystery -> RE: Turn out the lights (12/14/2010 4:04:13 PM)

Oh FFS.

And extending unpaid for tax cuts, along with new unpaid for FICA cuts (the SS funds will be reimbursed from general revenue), lifting the estate tax, while extending unemployment benefits, all increasing the structural deficit--seems your boys didn't learn shit either, beyond that the electorate is readily duped.

truckinslave -> RE: Turn out the lights (12/14/2010 4:11:28 PM)

I'm also against the 0bama0 "tax cut" bill, mm.
And there is growing R pushback on the hill, too.

mnottertail -> RE: Turn out the lights (12/14/2010 4:36:51 PM)

Oh, are they starting to examine real facts now instead of whats blowing out of Limbaughs ass or some fucktard on Faux?

kdsub -> RE: Turn out the lights (12/14/2010 4:47:23 PM)

Do you think it could be we as a nation are living above our means? Global economics have destroyed our ability to maintain our way of life. It makes no difference the party of those in office. Democrats or Republicans can not save a country that has sent away its industry and along with it... its wealth. You can't buy fancy houses and cars and fight wars while the majority of our citizens are working at McDonalds, the government, and WalMart.

I am worried about the trees.

Very worried.

We run the printer.   It is a good thing there is gold in Fort Knox.  Those Chinese - get paper money- we hold gold- and even Germanys gold.  For their security- of course.  STOMP

Tax cuts that existed for 10 years and were/are critical to the economy, its not a cost increase, its cost maintenance
Estate tax-already scheduled but go ahead and tax them, all it represents is a full employment provision for estate planners and insurance salesman
Unemployment-Dem provision
FICA-Dem provision

Its called compromise.

OK, I will take the bait.

Tell us why the Bush tax cuts were/are critical to the economy.

And please, no bullshit theories by the American Enterprise Insitute, or ideas you found on RedState or StormFront.

Give us real, documented data.

Please document the massive job growth.

Show us the increase in middle class prosperty

Show us the paying down of the national debt.

I find it hard to belive that you believe that.

They were critical, but to their economy, not our's.

Been there, done that.

It was in the mid-late 90's, I believe.

Which explains why the tax cuts in the early 2000's were/are so critical to the economy ...

No wait, what I meant was, it explains why we are experiencing the prosperity we see throughout the country today ...

OK, not that either, but what I really meant was ...

Alright, give me awhile to work on this,

TheHeretic -> RE: Turn out the lights (12/14/2010 10:34:26 PM)

What should scare folks is that this is the most fiscally responsible thing the Dems have done all year. I mean, actually accounting for the money they want to spend, instead of just dipping into the till, like it's bottomless.

Maybe once they correct their budgetary dereliction of duty, and establish the tax rates that kick in on January 1, the Republicans will let them talk about DADT.

tazzygirl -> RE: Turn out the lights (12/14/2010 10:36:47 PM)

As i have said before... should be an interesting election.
