After months of speculation, it's pretty sure he's running. I predict the most divisive race for the RNC chairmanship ever.

Dunno if I'd call him an idiot. He seems to have been a hands-off leader, and more concerned about using his expense account than electing anyone. Not a team player. Funny, the same sort of stuff said about Palin.

WTF is MORE grass roots than someone running for the state house from a rural county and then here comes Mr High and mighty who couldn't fucking FIND us on a map without a funnel TELLING us that he is going to PERSONALLY see that our rep gets replaced in the fall. This guy did more for our county in 4 years than the previous reps did in 30. As speaker, he saw more Republican bills pass than at any time in the state's history and Steele comes to our county saying that he is going to personally see him replaced. WTF is more grass roots (and meddling) than that?

Not only do we have the system of checks and balances in the three branches of government, but we have two parties that must sell themselves to the American people. You are changing points wilbur. You mentioned his grass roots activities. By the way, weren't you one of the ones that was saying "The tea party isnt part of the Republican party"? But now you say that Steele was working with them. Make up your mind. Steele has no business in local races. He also had no business trying to micromanage the party. In this part of the country, I know a lot of folks that used to donate to the RNC that refuse to do so now because of Steele. He just came here to show his face and try to tell people what to do. As a result, we have the first non-Republican state rep since the late 1800's in a county that would vote for Satan if he had an (R) after his name on the ballot. Didnt work too well did it?

I didnt change anything. You tried to conflate 1 single fucking politician with the entire national grass roots movement. Sorry, it doesnt wash. What I recall saying about the tea party is that they are a separate entity from the GOO that recognized they are more closely aligned with the GOP and had the best chance of influencing national policy and winning some races by running as Republicans then as a third party. Of course Steele has a place in local races. Where do you think the next national candidates come from? I simply dont believe you on the rest of it. If the region was so solid Red, Steele alone could not have changed that.
