Thank you for posting this, one of my friend is a BP agent who lives in Rio Rico, and works out of that sector. He wasn't involved, but my heart goes out to his family and co-workers.

This is a very real and pervasive problem here in the Southwest, and it is getting progressively worse.

Yeah    I think there are way to many on here that just see the word immigrant and stop there.   They fail to realize the consequences of the issue.

You mean unlike the way you lump drug traffickers and some poor guy trying to find a menial job in the same group?

if their commonality is illegal alien    yeah   this indicates that 1/3 of those in jail are there for drug offenses

http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/2010/07/06/20100706illegal-immigration-drug-trade.html

Now if the fed kept good stats, we might know more.  To bad.   Maybe it is the policy of Washington to side with the illegals and drug cartels.   I don't know.

I don't know.

Exactly

Juan who is looking for that lawn service job or slaughtering chickens in that meat plant is not interested in shooting at anyone.

The drug smugglers are a different story.  Nothing you do is ever going to completely keep them out.

You wamt to lock down the border like the old Soviet Union?  You do remember that things still got smuggled in and out?

Did you read your own article?

Allow me to help:

TUCSON, Ariz. - A U.S. Border Patrol agent was shot and killed north of the Arizona-Mexico border while trying to catch bandits who target illegal immigrants, the leader of a union representing agents said Wednesday.

Where in the article does it give the identity and details of any of the suspects?

Personally, I am in favor of multiple fences of razor wire, in between lots of really pissed off dogs, and land mines.   I know that won't stop the tunnels, but it is a nice start and worked for the most part between the DDR and GDR while I was there.

Didn't say it was.   I did spend 4 years in Berlin as well.    It devided quarters of the city as outlined in the quadripartite agreements of 1945.   However, in my opinion it was fairly effective.  I have seen it from both sides.   I do wish they had kept more of it as examples of history (good or bad not being the point)

Neither of those links answers the question I asked.

The agent was part of a task force targeting border bandits who preyed on illegal immigrants crossing the border and ranchers in the area.  And it developed into a gun battle between those bandits and the border patrol agents.

But you are leaving out those details and making assumptions to promote your cause without facts to back them.

Here it's much more likely to be under-the-table plumbers, electricians, roofers, car dealers.

My co-worker's son is a journeyman electrician that had to return to fast food because he was unwilling to accept the current less-than-minimum-wage that the illegals are accepting here for trade jobs.

That old saw about the illegals just looking for jobs "that Americans won't do" is dead.

Yet another example of conservatives who want to imitate, not destroy, the old Communist Empire.

You are right and wrong.   I can't give you a link on what I heard in my truck going to the store from some radio announcer.  So if you want proof, I suggest you contact the radio station.

My daughter-in-law's dad was a civil engineer.   He came here as an illegal and worked professional positions.   He didn't do what he should have when they brought in amnesty and they finally deported him.

Bull Shit

Have worked construction for years and that tired old song of how they do construction jobs for $5 an hour is an old long lie.

What did you think was going to happen when you put that much firepower on the border? It won't be the last. Use your fucking head

DYB   your right   as long as there are drug smugllers, coyotes, etc coming across the border   Has nothing to do with how much firepower anyone has, but I wish our people had more and bigger and badder firepower.   Some cobras, maybe a howitzer or 20 you know   something like that
