For me, if I had a dom who pushed me to be more active like always going for walks an stuff, but not only that, but take the dog too, and did behavior training on me and the dog as well  , and we all went on dog friendly outings then yes I know it'd enrich her life more.  Don't get me wrong I take care of her but I am a lazy sedentiary person a lot, so we don't always go for walks or expend lots of energy, and stuff like that, so while I wouldn't need him to push me to feed her or water her or give her her pills or take her to the vet, I am on top of that all by myself, I would need him to push me, and in turn her to be more active hehe.

What about you guys and gals out there with doms and pets, has it enriched the animals life more too?

I have cats....they are already my dominants.  They could care less if there is a human dom in my life...if it comes down to the kittehs or him, the kittehs will win out everytime.  They actually enrich MY life.  But the men I have had interactions with have all pretty much ignored the cats.

I don't see why it would take a dom to push you to be more active....it's your health, you should be the one to take responsibility for it.

For me, my animals are MY responsiblity much like my children are MY responsiblity. I would not expect a man or woman who came into my life regardless of what side of they kneel they were on to have to tell me to act like a responsible pet owner or a responsible parent. Spending time with your pet is like spending time with your children. It is the same type of neglect IMO. Perhaps this sounds harsh but if YOU aren't prepared for that responsibility perhaps owning an animal (especially one who needs to be walked like a dog) is a bad idea.

My animals < 3 dogs, 1 cat, 1 horse plus client's dogs in for boarding/training> are MY sole responsibility.  Neither Dom nor sub would have any say in their general care/training/exercise/healthcare.   I had a Dom for 7 plus years who tried to tell me how to treat MY animals  (He felt I treated them better than most people treat their kids).  It didn't take him long to find out where he stood on ladder of MY priorities.  Needless to say I still have the creatures and he is thankfully out of the picture.   I look at it this way... when your Dom or sub walks out, the critters are still there with you.  Unconditional love at it's best.

To the OP......sounds like your Dom tho is looking out for YOUR welbeing as well as your dog's.  You openly admit "you need him to push you to be more active" as well as your dog.   Take it as he is looking out for your health as well as that of the dog's.  Appreciate the suggestion and do what he asks.  you will only be better off for it, and your dog will too!  Great way to bond btw.

It's something I find that's easier when I have someone telling me to do is all.

Yes, I know what you mean about the animals more than  any person in your life sometimes enriching your life more. My cockerspaniel when he was alive, he enriched my life very much, and his passing is still a pretty big hole in my heart and life somedays.   When it's time to help Ginger on her way out of this life* you may have heard she has cancer* it certainly will widen the hole.

Rennee Daddy isn't into being very active at home since he's active all day at work, but I'd love if he was. And I would so totally take it as meaning the very best for the doggie and I, if he pushed more activities, and yes it is a wonderful way to bond. I used to take my Cocker spaniel to Gibson ranch, and let him run around and chase his ball and we'd have lunch and a day out , and he'd sometimes find other dogs who were friendly to play with, and THEY would play with each other. One of my favorite pictures of us two, was the last time I took him to the park before he died. I picked him up and held him to me on my lap an DAddy took the picture.

I spend time with her and I play with her, I talk to her every day .  I just don't often  go out for walks with her. I agree it would be awful to have to be told to talk to her and play with her, if that was the case then I wouldn't have or keep a dog..

Tfb,
If you went out walking everyday that you could, you would feel better.
If Ginger is up for walks and enjoys them, then it would be good for both of you.

If I were you, I would try to get her out on her good days.
Dogs, like people feel good when they get some excercise... .

Angelica, yes going out makes her happy. I don't even have to take her very far, she also loves when you chase her into the yard, an try to catch her. It's funny to watch her bob and weave and dodge, stop on a dime an dart the other direction.
