ORIGINAL: CaringandReal The master body parts thread is steaming up my contact lenses. I think I want a little more. :) And I'd also like to know what other people like me fantasize about. Purely intellectual interest, of course! Blatant wanker thread... However, there is a need on these forums to balance out the repetitive "knees, suck; knees, suck; knees, suck"—how dreadfully boring! quote:
I am currently enjoying thinking about being tortured severely to nice soft fluffy happy (or sappy) tunes. I think the incongruity of the two experiences would be quite interesting! Why would I be tortured? Perhaps for liking this sort of music--I would think that in itself would be sufficient offense! ;) You're describing a cognitive dissonance (incongruity between experiences/expectations/ideas). In this case, the actual experience of "being tortured" conflicts with the expectation of "fluffy, happy times" inferred from the experienced "tunes". You can also appear: kind, while being sadistic; sweet, while being controlling. There are many ways to use contrasts, especially if you enjoy causing confusion. The anterior cingulate cortex is thought to monitor such conflicts and when the selected option doesn't make sense ("this is going to just be fluffy and happy"), it'll try the other option ("not fluffy and happy") and when both don't make sense ("the music is making me feel fluffy and happy, yet this experience isn't") the brain will force you to adapt, resulting in a new perspective ("fluffy and happy music can go along with this experience to make it more interesting"). Contrasts are interesting, because they result in brief confusion and then the brain is forced to find a solution. Repeated failures by this area of the brain to find an option with no dissonance, causes frustration. Riddles such as "Are you going to beg me to stop hurting you, because you know I enjoy hearing that or are you going to beg me to hurt you more, because you know it pleases me to do so?" can be entertaining for a short while. I also found one submissive's fantasy interesting to analyze. She wanted to have someone ruin her makeup, only to say something degrading and tell her to go fix it immediately. In this case, the point is to add to the cognitive dissonance she experiences when told to do whatever messes up her makeup, knowing perfectly well that option will probably result in future negative comments and having to correct it, so that it feels like she's sacrificing even more for her partner at the moment of choosing to please him. (Obviously, this only works for her and her particular interests.) Actually, submissives come up with ideas I couldn't have possibly dreamt up (even if I'm imaginative, I'm simply not a woman and the converse is probably true for male submissives as well). So, I actually enjoy learning about someone else's/a partner's fantasies. And I like making whoever I care about happy. I wouldn't be with someone that I didn't feel deserved an effort on my part to ensure their fulfillment. Anyway, I'm not interested in D/s enough to write about it. But I always care that my characters are coherent, so I build up from the most basic concepts. quote:
This is the song I'd be hearing, over and over. I immediately thought of a lot of good options for softer music. But the first thing that came to mind is Nirvana's School. Not that good of a song, but it hammers in the point: "No recess!". P.S. CaringandReal, you might want to trim your quotes and reply to more than a person at once. poise, kana <3 your songs, btw.
