...post your favourites here!  (this is intended to be light-hearted, not morbid)

famous epitaphs, or your own desired ones.

a typically irish one:

here lies the body of john mound
lost at sea and never found

(Boot Hill Cemetery, Tombstone, Arizona)
Here lays Butch.
We planted him raw.
He was quick on the trigger
But slow on the draw.

A life lived with no regrets

At least that is what I would like on mine. One of the simplest and  amazingly touching set of headstone I have ever seen was in an old cemetery  in the eastern townships in Montreeal. Each simply states "Husband and Wife for this life and the next love eternal."  There were no names and the dates were faded almost beyond  legibility but from what I could make out they  had both been in their late 70's when they died.   I didn't see the titles as loss of identy but  the simplicity of the   words husband and wife as a descriptor of  what they meant to each other.

I want mine to be the same as Puggy Pearson's
"He was the baddest good guy we ever knew."

When I was in a sober mood I'd worry, work and think
When I was in a drunken mood I'd gamble, fight and drink
Alas my moods are over and my time has come to pass
So now I'm buried upside down, you may kindly kiss my ass

Turns out the light at the end of the tunnel was a train.

Do not weep
He probably
Would have
Killed you.
