I don't think he's clear on what a primary care physician is.

Pick a doctor. That's your primary care physician.

Tricare at Nellis said that if I got a primary care in NV that I could only see doctors in NV.   ugh

Had over 12,000 medical miles last year.   Fortunatly this year only have like 4000   :)   I am a happy camper

Tricare requires only select doctors can be primary care. Not on the list can't be one. They have to apply.

Quote is from the last sentence of the article. I find that funny. Although it may not have a significant affect over one year's term, no matter how long it is for it will cut your lifetime because you paid less. Sounds to me like Social Security Department propaganda

Let me get this right. You are complaining about traveling 60 miles to see your Dr?

I used to drive my son 5 hours round trip to see a specialist in Charlotte NC.

And, im going to tell you, the distance between Tricare physicians are better than they used to be under Champus.

LOL no I was complaining about that 175 mile trip to Phoenix when I had to go there for primary care. Nice 4 hr drive (one way) thru tons of construction which will improve once they finish dividing the road in umpteen dozen years. But the good part was I got to stay at my sisters so I didn't have to make it an 8 hr round trip for a short dr visit all at one time.

Boy do I agree on the difference between Tricare and Champus. Champus sucked. My kids were hospitalized for 4 years. At the end of that Champus decided not to cover 3 of those years. 2 boys 24/7 3 years ugh. At least the hosp didn't try to sue me for the bill. It was 3/4 million (1984 dollars)

Champus got into the habit of rubber stamping everything no. Sorta like insurance companies do now. they do it to see how hard you will fight for what is rightly yours.

I'm one of those folks the IRS hates. Not only do I have 0 dependents and the single withholding, I also have an extra $50 over the federal and state taxes (not applicable here in FL, they have no state income tax....one reason why I moved here!) withheld out of my paycheck each payday. I started this when GWB Sr was in office and they started fucking around with the tax laws. I don't necessarily do it for a refund, but I don't want to get the tax bill at the end of the year. I have averaged a refund of $1500 Federal, and $800 in whatever state I filed in. I probably won't get that big of one from the federal gov't this year because I only had an extra $50 a month held out due to the way we got paid. Plus, by the time I start my new job (WOOT!), I'll have gotten approximately 10 weeks of unemployment, and I didn't have any taxes withheld.....crap, I only get $275 a week for unemployment benefits.....considering that my basic living expenses total approx $1400 NOT including groceries, I can't afford to lose any of it to taxes. I'm hoping that the standard deduction will help even things out.

But it's like found money at the beginning of the year, I use it to get the big ticket items that I normally couldn't afford. This year, it was the downpayment on a car, one year, it was a trip to Mexico.

I have long thought that members of both parties have led to the complete mess that is our present govt. these money grabing, freedom snatchers are most often progressives in both parties. elitists who think only they know what is best for all of us inferor people.

as for My senator, I let him know tha I will, for the first time, physically volenteer to campain for someone who will oppose him come the next election.

Wrong. The higher taxes WILL come. They've simply been deferred. The deficit is unsustainable. And there's been no letup in spending.

In other words competition works, contrary to your constant whining.

"Competition between insurers may increase claims approvals. Most physicians and hospitals must take Medicare because it represents so large a share of the helathcare spending. On the other hand, physicians may only accept patients whose insurance companies have prompt payment with fewer denials. This leads to some incentive for insurance companies to decrease claims denials."
