I was wondering if anyone is getting a prank gift for that one person in your immediate or extended family that just seems to get on everyone's nerves.

I'm getting one for my brother. We are really close, but he has a way of irritating the hell out of me. He's always half joking about getting a lottery tickey one day and winning money so he can quit working. So, I decided to get him a fixed game card. Lucky Shamrocks or something. In short, he's going to "win" anywhere from 20,000 to 50,000 dollars. Having it be a smaller number I think will make it more believable. If he were to win 10 million or so, he might not believe it.

Anyway, he's really gullible, and I can't wait to laugh right at him once he realizes it's a hoax.

Anyone think this is too harsh? You have to remember, he tortured me for years growing up. This is a form of retribution. Now I only have to make sure my defenses are up, because I know he'll try to strike back.

Actually those are fun....be sure to have a video cam handy...lol. But I would get a real gift too.

My sister and I were polar opposites growing up....time and forgiveness will mellow things out for the two of you. Good luck

~Fast Reply~

I really don't get mean gifts like this. It just makes things worse. It's not like the someone is going to go "OMG AWESOME - wait... wait.... you... you tricked me... this... this really fucking sucks. Now I'm magically sorry and repent for every mean thing I've ever done".

Seems like a great way to have a fight and cause a scene during what is supposed to be a family event.

Yeah, if he's been mean all your life he won't magically apologize. He's just going to have to grow up.

my brother and i hated each other for years...now we're best friends. It can happen sometimes. i'm thinking a prank gift like that might widen the rift, though at the same time, he might know right away it's a hoax and that would ruin the effect you were hoping for.

Some prank gifts are fun, or funny. This just seems mean-spirited.

I see nothing mean spirited about prank gifts....I've gotten and given many in my time and the laughter is what is remembered most.

But given in bitterness, with the thought of hahaha on you, seems immature. I see this as an opportunity in a lesson to be the type of person you want to be. Controlling yourself and your emotions. If your on the road to Domdom, you could view this as a learning tool. This is not about your brothers behavior, it's about you.

This may be my fault for not explaining. My brother and I are not at odds with eachother. He was just a pain growing up because I was so calm and he was the obnoxious kid. He'd jump on my back and mess my toys up or whatever, and I was always extremely patient with him, even as a young kid, because he was smaller and younger than I was.

We are very close. We play jokes on each other all the time, and call each other names. It doesn't hurt because we know each other well enough to know we're playing. We also know when one of us is actually made and not just messing around.

But we are very close. He does things to me and laughs in my face and I do it back. But we never hold on to any of it.

My mistake if you guys thought we hated each other or something.

Give him a sexually transmitted disease for christmas. http://www.giantmicrobes.com/us/main/giantmicrobes-originals/

Or the Bubonic plague or even ebola.

A must for the pre-med on your xmas list.

Hmmm.... Now you have me seriously holding my hands out in the air and "weighing" what I think would be a better gift.

I'm wondering if he would be quicker to laugh off the fake $20,000 or a disease. I must think on this.

The last joke gift I got for a friend was on her birthday. She is fan of Batman, so I shopped around until I found a purple butt plug of moderate size and drew little Batman symbols all over it along with a title on the back saying "Bat Plug". I delivered it too her covered in ribbon at the bottom of a local jewelry store bag.

She blushed with embarrassment delightfully.

(And I included a copy of Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns as a compensation gift so she wouldn't be too mad at me.)

I like prank gifts. My favorite is giving a package of diapers to unwed fathers who make it onto the shopping list for whatever reason. I've been known to include a card letting them know I've now done more for his kid than he has in the last month.

The fake lotto tickets are good, but don't give it to him with much fanfare. Slip it into the stocking, or use a post-it note to make it part of the tofrom on another package.

I've seen those things Hill - LOVE THEM!  And I hate to admit how many of them have actually been a part of my world.  HA HA HA... Maybe I need to re-think some of the gifts I'm giving!

ETA:  Here's my personal favorite, Girardia.  Had some seriously good hallucinations with that one...

Tainted water for Termy.

May your hallucinations be as thrilling as mine were.

*I know you were using fast reply and weren't talking about the girardia.*

I found being tested for it was enough of a pain. Thankfully I didn't have it.

Giardia is spread through beavers. Since they've made a comeback, giardia has too.

That reminds me of the "friends" that taped a lottery drawing then went out and bought the winning numbers. Each person got a card and when the victim wasn't looking they slipped the recording in. The group watched the taped drawing together and uploaded the resulting scene of euphoria to YouTube.
