On the contrary: while winter is not the time to wax, it's definitely the time when the car should get washed--especially the undercarriage to prevent rust. Take the car to a wash after a heavy snow/salting....then turn on the motor, crank up the heat, crack a window....and clean the whole inside. Your Dom will be so surprised!

I don't consider keep out house clean as chores. If you didn't tell her to do the dishes would she let them sit in the sink? Lazy to me. I don't do chores, I do what any responsible adult woman that maintains a house does, I clean it, daily. Why is that a chore? If you ask for something special, why not things like having her wash your hair, give you a scalp massage, shave you in a sexy manner, or get a list of your favorite meals and cook them for you? Laundry and dishes are just common sense.

I think there's some great advice here. It sounds like the biggest issue is not so much you're running out of things to tell them what to do, but you're losing the context with which they're doing them. If the sub is a domestic servant, think about what a submissive domestic servant receives in doing house work, what's their motivation other then making you happy? Is it the satisfaction of providing a service? Are they needing your praise? Are they needing your punishment? Do they feed off the structure, instead of the chores themselves? Ask, and investigate and get to know why. I'd start with a good old fashioned chore list. Write things down that are to be done with in the month, then with in the week, then with in the day. And provide her with this list, print it out, and hand it to her, going over it item by item making sure she understands what your expectations and desires are. WHILE listening to what her expectations and desires are for providing this service. Good luck.

Hi OsideGirl Look at it another way--domestic servitude is just one aspect of BDSM that enthralls some....and completely baffles others. It's by no means a qualifier or a requirement of a submissive to perform housework, any more so than it's a requirement for a servant to perform sexual service. If it's not your thing, it's just not your thing. Doesn't make you a bad sub. Frenzyandpoise hit it right on the mark--it's all about context. When I knew I was cleaning the house so that my Domme would come home to a nice, tidy home, the experience was erotic and enjoyable....I looked forward to doing it. Another example? It's been a long month for me, and right now, my own home is completely sub-standard in terms of tidiness. I'm tired, I've got the holiday blues, and I don't feel like straightening/cleaning. At some point after Christmas, I'll be visiting my Household to clean up their house post-Christmas guests, and I'm sure I will be asked about the condition of my own home..... and I guarantee you that the very next day, when I am cleaning my house with my bum still red from the day before, I'll not only be motivated to clean my house, I'll be turned on the whole time too.

whatever he tells me to do. He doesn't make up things for me to do just for the hell of it. If he needs his home cleaned I clean it. If he needs an errand run then I do it. If he needs a cup of tea I fetch it. Chores? Hell I could probably think of a million. I do anything at all possible that I'm able to do for him.

Here's the reality: He's talking about someone he hasn't met yet or has just met and isn't living with him. Most people work full time, which means that the submissive likely has pretty much the same amount of non-work time as the D. (I get that some people get off on domestic service.) The expectation that a full time employed submissive that you've just met is going to come over and clean your house may happen, but it's unlikely. Once you get to a point where you are D and s, then it's all about what you've negotiated.

I think it's just habit from calling them that from when I was a kid and then on to dealing with My own kids. i won't do basic housework a Dominant doesn't know how to do themselves, for personal reasons. As Spirited said, i'm not a maid, a mother or a time-traveler. i would view them as incompetent if they weren't able to recognize what i was doing or how well i did it. i do need recognition for my efforts and i do need to view my Dominant as competent. i will do housework a Dominant doesn't wish to do themselves, and happily, as i find cleaning tasks to be a type of moving meditation for me. And i will live in a household in which homekeeping is my primary function as doing them makes me more cheerful. Everybody can use more cheer. Imagine the kind of ideal household you wish to live in, OP. What are the creature comforts? What are the tasks required to maintain those creature comforts? Perhaps looking through a basic home management book such as Martha Stewart's Homekeeping Handbook would give you ideas. If you wish to have clean windows then someone has to clean them. If you wish to have a clean floor then someone has to clean it. Perhaps you and your sub will find a mutually beneficial arrangement. Sometimes, housework can be used to bring people together, remember. So "make the sub do it" isn't always the best choice. If you have hir out in the herb garden alone while your in the house doing something else entirely, there's less time for interaction, for example. edit: paragraph breaks.

A tooth brush and a tile floor......hours of tedius work:) Cooking, cleaning, rearranging, fresh cut flowers, errands, making the bed, moving every piece of furniture to dust and vacuum, draw you a bath, and list goes on and on. Add blindfold, cuffs, or whatever to make it interesting if you like :)

It appears that there really are a few separate threads to this, er, thread. The thread of domestic servant duties....and those who relish performing them..... the issue of domestic duties with those who prefer other activities to consume their time and effort..... and the response to the OP--not the question he asked, but the underlying reason behind it. After looking at the OPs profile, I'm guessing this was either a question out of curiosity (from inexperience) since it doesn't appear that SAMHAIN has a girl/sub..... or it's wank-fodder fishing. Which I'm not completely opposed to on this topic, but then again, you all know my bias: I'm a houseboy.
