Considering the holidays upon us, I thought it might be interesting to share some of your favorite music of the season... or particular performances that you enjoy. This one is was a surprise to me when I first came across it... Riu Chiu I like it. Of course, I was always a Monkees fan. [:D]

I like so many Christmas songs, it's hard to pick a favorite. This piece/video has been a spirit-raiser for me this Advent.

I especially enjoy choral music at the holidays. There are 2 that I really enjoy; the first needs no introduction or explanation. The Morman Tabernacle Choir. One of the worlds great choirs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4BWhvIlFVE This year I have also been enjoying Trevor Pinnock.and the English Chamber Orchestra. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqILJPv1JIY&feature=related Pinnock is a harpsichord player and one of the best known advocates for playing classical music on classical instruments. His rendition of the Messiah has received a lot of praise because the diction is so clear and the words so easy to understand. I have the whole piece and I also made a CD of just the chorus selections which I really enjoy.
