ORIGINAL: journerotica This isn't specific to piercings, but thinking of cleanliness I once had an operation that involved wearing a knee to under breast compression garment for 24/7 with just a slit to pee through. A lot of people would apparently suffer from infections in cuts around that area (thighs). The key for me was a shewee - if you need to be able to direct your pee away from something it's very useful, and you can use them sitting on the loo like normal. You might find it useful. With the piercing it will be different, her own urine will help her to to heal even quicker, from somebody who does piercings for a living I heard that a lot of infections do happen because people over-sterilize, you should follow the advise of the piercer and not clean it more often as this can stop the healing process and make infections more likely. From personal experience, I only have one body piercing apart from my ears (worth in the long run but getting it had me walk like John Wayne for a couple of days), I was talking to a lot of piercers until I felt comfortable enough and also made sure that the place was spotless clean. My "trick" was to ask if I could use their bathroom, I figured if that isn't spotless clean then I won't trust them with their equipment or punching holes into me. You have to find somebody you are comfy with and trust enough. I never had a problem with mine, but I followed their advise to the letter, also they recommended that I rather do it in a warm season, lots of clothes in the colder season tend to cause unwanted friction on the piercing and also make you sweat, you should also only wear undies from natural fiber until it's completely healed up.
