Hi, I have some experience with ebay. (I've been selling for three plus years.) It's a fun hobby, and satisfies my hippie-commune needs. First, there's nothing wrong with getting your feet wet with trial auctioning before you commit, or spend much money. Try selling something you already have. Spend time looking at the vast ebay universe to get ideas. Second, I noticed you are a master gardener. I'll give you some examples of profitable ebay businesses--just involving SEEDS! "Hollyhock seeds from 122 yr old farm." This product (50 seeds) is sold about once a week, and nets the seller more than $7.00! Lots of bids. Heirloom seeds are often good bets. On the opposite side of the coin: daylily seeds from specific named crosses. (more than $5.00 for 10 seeds) Ever dreamed of being a hybridizer? I also noticed you are crafty, so I'll give you an example of a happy sewing seller. There is one lady who sells home-sewn patchwork hippie skirts. The bids reach upwards of $40.00. As a sewer myself, I know these skirts don't take long to make, but you have to have taste, I suppose. Anyway, those are a few ideas I've recently considered. The best thing would be to try to sell something that takes no expensive overhead/startup, at least at first. Also imitate other sellers (sell what sells). Once you are more confident, then you can create your own special product. Hope this helps, January
