Authorities in the Guangxi region earlier this year uncovered more than 1,260 doses of the illegal vaccines, most of which had been used in hospitals and clinics in the city of Laibin, the China Daily reported. The vaccines were produced in an underground workshop and sold for a total of 330,000 yuan ($49,250). The boy, who had been bitten by a dog, died in December last year after receiving six rabies shots.

Interesting. The Chinese have produced fake bolts and capacitor, whichever then sold to the USA and created major product failure issues. And of course pirated media. First time I've heArd of them getting burned themselves. I hope they crack down on the whole counterfeiting culture.

Good point Steven. Maybe now that it's their own children dying, they won't turn a blind eye to poisoned formula and such.

Wasn't the man who allowed the poison baby formula to be produced killed/committed suicide after Chinese babies died? I seem to remember reading something about that a couple years ago.

The closer to home a problem occurs, the more the likelihood authorities will act to stop these things, and of course, as a country prospers and becomes more respected on the world stage, the more that country is likely to stamp out nefarious practices, even practices that got them to the point where they were equipped to supply the world stage.
