In my stocking, yesterday morning, was a gadget called the "Turbo Snake." I don't think I ever saw a commercial for this invention, but there must have been some, because it had a picture of a TV pitchman I've never heard of, and the "as seen on TV" logo. It is supposed to "instantly" remove hair clogs in your bathroom sink or tub/shower.

I'm just going to say this simple and straightforward, the motherfucker works. I slid it down into the shower drain that had become annoying again, gave it a twist, and pulled that nasty, goopy hair clog right out. The drain worked better than it has since we moved in.

It also came with one of those, "well, duh'" moments, because I have fought the battles of the hair clog before, and this is such a simple thing. One end of the flexible wire is wrapped in the prickly side of velcro. That's it.

Anybody else get some stupid little thing you've never heard of, but that is very useful, this year?

Y'know, Rich, that was nice and direct, but before you become a celebrity pitchman, you might wanna tone down your language.  Just a thought.

Really? It didn't work in the garage drain. I wonder if we kept it. For sinks, I get the teen to untwist the pvc collar and then I clean out the pipe. For the tub, The Man just uses a normal plumber's snake a couple of times a year. Speaking of which, it's about time he does it again. He wants me to have hair down to my ass, he gets to deal with the clogs.

Before him, I just poured Liquid Plumber in at night and used a plunger in the morning.

You do know that "as seen on TV" = "400% markup".

My drains could be better- but that is what a plunger is for-  right?

Hey- as long as I do not have to dig up my yard- I am good.   Yay .

It's velcro glued to the end of a coathanger, Termy. Even with no idea what this thing cost, I'd say that's a really low estimate. Now that I know the trick, it's not like I'll ever buy one.

Pahunk, it just seems to me that the less material you try to force through the sewer pipe, the less likely it's going to be to get a clog you have to dig a hole to fix.

Now if the hunk of velcro winds up going down the pipe, that isn't going to help either.

At the old place we had to dig up the sewer line.   They wear out after 40 years and break down.  The clay breaks and lands to sewage into the yard- rather then in the city sewer.
