tg, I don't think there is any serious person who can claim there isn't a strong tendency for black people to "vote black". It's just the way it is.

I would feel very comfortable making book that at least 90% of black Americans voting for MA man in the above poll voted for a black person, and that at least 90% of those voted for either 0bama0 or MLK....

You are quite correct and the same could be said of  'serious' whites. I have spoken to and heard many whites say that as long as we have a bi-racial (black) man in the white house, nothing will get done. Already proven quite false but you get my drift.

Yes, I think we can agree Dear Leader has done a lot... and it will take many years to recover and correct it. At least a good start came last November. As long as he is in love with the sound of his own voice and the nonsense that it spews, we should continue the fix in November of 2012.

Obama. Some conservatives tend to love the drivel Beck dishes out.

I think you are correct but he is fast loosing his luster. More repubs are realizing as time goes by...Beck with his lies and demagoguery is taking a toll on the so-called conservative cause such as it is and will begin to hurt the party.

OMG! This heralds the long awaited return of the Tangerine Pantsuit!

Happy times.

In other words, almost 80 percent of the 1019 people asked admire most someone other than President Obama and Hillary Clinton.  Actually, that percentage is higher considering that the poll combined both people's first and second choices.

Don't you just love statistics?  [;)]

And a higher percentage than that admired most someone other than George W. Bush, Nelson Mandela, Sarah Palin, and Oprah Winfrey.

Is there some point you are trying to make other than stating the obvious?

Yep. They can be skewed to say just about anything your lil heart desires. Extremely telling when one of the two people who received the most votes only garnered 22%. And second place garnered only 5%

In this i believe you are correct. He has become a political equalivent to Pat Robertson..

The big surprises for me are:

1. How low Michelle did.  I had just assumed she was well liked - she is definitely a media darling.
2. How factionalized the GOP is on the most admired men list. Bush leads the pack, and only got 11% of the vote.  Limbaugh is off the list, and so is every other current GOP pol (although Palin of course made the women's list).
3. The only drilling down the pollsters did was by political affiliation - not by gender, age, race, or any other criteria.

I would have thought my obvious point would have been... obvious.  Is there some reason a secondary point is necessary?

Especially telling; considering nearly just as many people had no opinion.

To be honest, I'm not sure why polls like this are done at all.  Pointless, if you ask me.

tazzygirl -> RE: Most Admired Man, Woman of 2010 (12/28/2010 7:21:35 AM)

Because they have done them for years and years. The trends are interesting to see. I didnt post this poll to preach that Obama was the second coming. I wasnt going to post it at all until i saw where Beck came in. That part was funny, in a political kind of sense.

Well fuck, just another love Obama thread....

I was sure this thread was gonna be about.........................................me.

Uh...........yeah.

Because stating the obvious is well, uh, pointless, if you ask me.

I have no doubt if Your name had been added to the list, Master Bull, you would have gotten 90% of the votes. Just goes to show how politically incorrect the political scene is and how prejudiced they are against lifestylers of any kind. Its always been my belief that a man entering the Congressional halls carrying a bull whip would have the immediate attention of all. Not to mention a few Palins begging to lap at his boots.

CerVeza -> RE: Most Admired Man, Woman of 2010 (12/28/2010 7:30:30 AM)

If you don't like glenn beck, don't watch. See, this is what gets me about our compassionate caring leftists loving the first amendment. They love free speech for themselves, but want to cut off speech from anybody else. They will call it "hate speech" to do that. I love true free speech. I want leftists to caterwaul all they want. I love the Internet. A leftist says something stupid now, and it is posted on you tube and goes around the world a minute or two later for all to see and laugh at them.

Nothing more "manly" then the fake tears of Beck. And we dont need the internet to tell us he is crying yet again.

Weren't you considering standing for some regional office or other earlier in the year? Did anything come of that?

Of course you have proof of leftists here making the case that he should not have free speech?
taking the piss out of him and calling him out is not limiting his free speech.
Care to show some proof there smart arse?
How has he suffered lack of free speech??
saying its so and it being factually so is a long distance apart, cept in the mind of deranged beckerheads, that feel the need to cry for him.
