I've heard of (and played with) paddles and canes made of Lexan, it's a super hard plastic that looks like lucite.  Quite effective.

I suggest, however, purchasing ones from established implement artisans--don't try making your own.  Good lexan implements have sanded/rounded edges to prevent splintering.

Lexan is the trade name for a poly carbonite plastic developed by General Electric Plastics now known as for SABIC Innovative Plastics. The clear poly carbonite plastic is used for Airplane canopies, airplane windshields, bullit proof guards, machine guards and a whole host of other applications.

The stuff makes great paddles and it can be thermoformed (heated and bent into shape). But you need to know how to polish plastics to make it nice and shiny.

no kidding?  that's actually pretty interesting! It makes sense--I've seen Lexan on helmet visors and riot shields.
And that explains why they hurt so damn much.

Lexan paddles don't just have the thud factor--they've got quite the afterburn.

It's also used as the optical material on the nose of laser-guided weapons. Now that would sting like a motherfucker!

To save you a few minutes with Google, a quick collage of a sheet of Lexan (top left, courtesy of homedepot.com) and some of the uses the plastic can be put to. Looks like some people have done the color thing...

My previous Mistress had a couple of Lexan canes in various colors and sizes. She loved them and I absolutely HATED them!!! I think they might of been the implement in her arsenal I despised the most.

Google is full of infinite possibilities. Some people know from experience they keep choosing the wrong ones. ...Then they bug me to do it for them. Stop bitching about that, it's not laziness on their part no matter how easy it seems to you.

Thanks for the pictoral. Cool stuff.

Oops, did I say I hate those canes? I meant, I adore them!

Thinking of a specific example related to Lexan, the last play session I hate with my former Mistress She really throttled my hide with those canes. I think She was getting Her anger out knowing that this would be our last play session. Anyways, She had a few shots that didn't end up quite square on my ass, more a combination of hip and side of my cheek. Those marks lasted for a solid month at least, I kid you not. And I have the curse/blessing of not marking very well so most of my battle wounds are gone within a few days.

I've experienced a 50-clip zipper line before and if someone told me I could choose between the canes or a zipper line I would opt for the zipper, and certainly floggers and paddles before those canes. So in summation, those little devils hurt!!!

I think you might have read a bit much into my tone. It's easy to both misconstrue and miscommunicate such things with text – and I probably could have been a bit more careful with the wording – but, just to be clear, I wasn't bitching at all. I like to think I have better things to do with my time. I was simply trying to be helpful and, quite literally, save Cynthia (and anyone else interested) a few minutes. Glad you enjoyed, though. :)

Cynthina,
Not sure if they come in colors. All the ones I have seen are clear. Yes they are very hot and they sting like hell. Sadly this is not one of the toys in my toy box. But right about now I wish I could find someone who had one to bring me to my knees :)

Nah-you were doing it to save her a few minutes' googling, and you said 'to save you a few minutes with Google'. Is it possible to be clearer than that?

Lovely to see you posting, honey.

Those paddles look like fun. Wantwantwantwant...

Ah, you weren't bitching, you were being modest. Eh, you accidentally tied in with a meme. When somebody asks for an example or explanation, they're told to just fucking google it. So 'save you a couple minutes Googling' brings up all those times someone like CynthiaWVirginia is told to 'just google it' in response to her question, implying laziness and ineptitude that isn't really a true characteristic of her question.
